| Great! I look forward to praying for both of you, and the group as a whole. My kitty... she is a princess! Our 15-yr old doggie died last summer, and we decided a kitty would be much easier. Our son, now 16, said he wanted an all white kitten. There aren't many out there!! We found her, and knew it was meant to be! She turns 1 yr old in April. |

Praise the Lord, yes I'm married to a pastor and Jesus is Lord of my life.
I started SBD May 3, 2004, to date I've lost 88 pounds. Before I started I prayed for God to give me the strength to do it and He is sooooooooooooo faithful.
Nice to meet all you fellow christians.
God Bless |

Radically saved and totally in love with the Lord! FYI, I'm a music minister, thus my ID. I know praying for one another would help us all!
Thanks for the idea of getting a list together!
Blessings,

Here is a devotion that I would like to share with you all:
Have You Come To "When" Yet?
“And the Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends.”
Job 42:10
The plaintive, self-centred, morbid kind of prayer, a dead-set that I want to be right, is never found in the New Testament. The fact that I am trying to be right with God is a sign that I am rebelling against the Atonement. "Lord, I will purify my heart if You will answer my prayer; I will walk rightly if You will help me." I cannot make myself right with God, I cannot make my life perfect; I can only be right with God if I accept the Atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ as an absolute gift. Am I humble enough to accept it? I have to resign every kind of claim and cease from every effort, and leave myself entirely alone in His hands, and then begin to pour out in the priestly work of intercession. There is much prayer that arises from real disbelief in the Atonement. Jesus is not beginning to save us, He has saved us, the thing is done, and it is an insult to ask Him to do it.
If you are not getting the hundredfold more, not getting insight into God's word, then start praying for your friends, enter into the ministry of the interior. "The Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends." The real business of your life as a saved soul is intercessory prayer. Wherever God puts you in circumstances, pray immediately, pray that His Atonement may be realized in other lives as it has been in yours. Pray for your friends now; pray for those with whom you come in contact now. |

Would love to join you! I know that I couldn't make it day to day without prayer and would enjoy joining forces with others. Thanks Toese for the devotion.
Is anyone doing a specific Lenten devotional? |

Our church is doing a '40 day Spiritual Workout' - readings for the 40 days of lent, memory versus, and the sermon each week covers the chapter of John that we have been reading every day.
We had always been Lutheran (LCMS), which celebrates Lent. Now, we are Church of the Nazarene - and although they are not "officially" celebrating Lent (with mid-week services and such) there is a definite emphasis.
I loved the devotional! Have you all read Purpose Driven Life? |

toese, thanks for the devotional. It's funny how things can be out of balance... growing up, I was taught to ONLY pray for others, "praying for yourself is selfish".
Got into a more balanced church and had to learn how to pray for myself! (many years ago!)
busybee0223 - A Purpose Driven Life was an awesome book! So good, my Pastor made it required reading for our church. After that, the next book which changed my life drastically was Under Cover. Oh my goodness, it kept me on my knees!!! Next, we did Marriage On The Rock. I must admit, I got in the flesh on that one and didn't want to read it because I have an incredible marriage (20 years), not perfect, but awesome! However, I went to my Pastor and repented in the middle of the book study because I realized in his wisdom, he chose this book as a ministry took to "pack" in our tool box to minister to others. I've already used it many times as a reference in dealing with marriage issues with my friends and a few people God put in my path.
One of the great benefits of having our entire church do book studies is that it puts us in one accord and in one purpose. It is amazing what it has done in preparing us to minister to the many that will come in the last days! Our Pastor always chooses books that are staturated in the Word and of sound doctrine. |

AMEN Sister! Here I am Monday morning, ate my breakfast which is a feat in itself these days. My DH had open heart bypass surgery on 2/17 and he's still no where near taking care of himself. He relies on me to cook his meals and make sure he takes all of his medications at the times they are supposed to be taken. He is not able to drive so I am the chauffer for all his doctor appointments.
I work a full time job in our church and their is a Christian school upstairs and I'm the secretary for them as well. I've just about given up on trying to keep the house clean. Just manage to do the laundry and go grocery shopping and seems like many trips to Walgreens!
Please pray for me, that God sustains me through all of this. Some mornings it's a chore to wake up knowing what lies ahead. This a.m. I didn't remember what day it was
BusyBee.... I have TWO cats (twin sisters) that look like your cat.
God bless - Carol |
