Has anyone ever tried the "Fast Food Diet"? :? My friend was talking about trying it and I'm thinking... "How in the WORLD could that be healthy?!" I barely eat fast food anymore but if I do, I consider it a "treat" and barely ever get say, fries with my hambuger... or, just get 1 taco from taco bell or something like that. Before I started up the SBD Challenge (We are the Babice Beach Babes ~ Come cheer us on!), I wanted to "treat" myself to a grilled stuffed chicken burrito from Taco Bell. I know...... I know..... and you know what?! My body couldn't handle it!! It's like, "What are you DOING to me?!" I had a stomach ache ALL DAY!
Anyways... I was looking into the details of this "Fast Food Diet" and it looks like it's based on caloric intake... and it tells you which sandwich or taco or piece of chicken whatever from each fast food place has less calories. (Which, you could check yourself by going to that restaurant's website. ;)) I just don't understand, besides decreasing your caloric intake, how people could lose weight and feel GOOD on this diet. :? I mean, to me, fast food means a lot of fried everything... where's your fruit? Where's your veggies? (Unless you have a salad a couple times/day.)
I searched for this topic on here and noticed no one ever posted anything about it. Just thought I'd bring it to the "other diets" forum and see if anyone ever tried it and what their success was? |

| After reading Fast Food Nation, I say even the "healthy" stuff at fast food places should be considered a treat. Even when I choose sb friendly stuff, if I eat out too much I stop losing weight. Just my thoughts on it! |

| Fast Food a "treat"? Sounds a little worse than eating out of my garbage can to me. To each his own, I suppose. |

I know what you're saying about feeling sick all day after eating fast food pookiebear! Since I started running intensively, I have become far more conscious of how food affects my body. After eating something I wouldn't normally eat, for social or work-related reasons, I have actually thrown up after a run
I haven't had this experience since starting the SBD, but I'm sure the effect will be even more pronounced.
Like you, mommy2three I've found that eating out can be a problem - you just can't control what you're eating. For Mr RedPanda and myself, eating out has become a rare treat, rather than a regular one. More money for salmon :D
I think the "Fast Food Diet" is just pandering to the gullible. |

| I said if you are going to eat fast food it should be considered as a treat, not that is was one. And when I say healthy I'm talking about salads and chile thats it. Today I ate chile at Wendys and I was literally sick for the rest of today (I'm still feeling it now after 6 hours) I don't think I'll be going back again anytime soon! |

Quite so, mommy2three. My first and last Big Mac was in 1978 - and in my own defence I was very hungry at the time and no other food was available.
For my latest diatribe on the evils of cr*p food, see my thread below.
