Congrats Little Girl!
I too am finished with P1 tommorrow and so far have lost 10.5. I'm so pleased with the progress and not feeling any great cravings for fruit, couscous or ww pita that I plan on hanging in P1 for another week, hoping for at least 3 more lbs.
CP :)
pssst... Don't tell, but I had a glass of Merlot with a client earlier this week and it didn't seem to affect my weight loss at all. I think the biggest issue with alcohol is the mixers that we use with the hard stuff and the sense of inhibition drinking can promote that leads to binging...usually on bad carbs. I plan on enjoying a glass with dinner occasionally as I proceed through an extended P1. I'll let ya know how it works out. |

| My low carb cocktail creation is raspberry smirnoff with crystal light raspberry lemonade - add ice, some fresh lemon and mix. :D |

| The good thing with the raspberry cocktail is you can make it into a frozen drink in the summer - add more ice and a little splenda - suddenly you have a full flavor low carb frozen drink. |

Since you mentioned frozen drinks.....when i was on atkins i found a wonderful sugar free drink mix brand called Baja Bobs.....everything is sweetened with splenda!! Including the margarita mix... hehe. Love a margarita! I used to buy it off atkins.com, never could find it at a store.
I also like to mix vodka with MinuteMaid's new light juices. The raspberry passion is great, and so is the mango tropical. They are only like 3% actual juice, so they have virtually no sugar.
I bought myself a bottle of chianti today at the store for when i'm past P1, although i havent yet decided when i will move on to P2. |

I'm not sure about Phase 2 either - I've never been a bread eater and not the biggest fruit person. Can't I just kind of stay here for awhile? Maybe add in an occassional piece of whole wheat bread or wild rice?

| Fit-n-fab, thats exactly what i'm thinking too. I do like rice, etc., but i can certainly live without it. I think i am going to do some browsing on the P2 forum tonight.... i'll let you know if i find out anything helpful. |

I'm wondering why you are choosing to stay on Phase 1? As redroxco mentioned, after two weeks, it's time to move on.
In the chapter of the book entitled "Why do People Occasionally Fail on This Diet?" Dr. A states: ". . . we strongly urge all the people we counsel to switch to Phase 2 after the second week, no matter how tempting it is to remain on Phase 1. This is a long-term diet, and the three-phase approach is an important part of its success. It may take longer to lose the weight this way, but your chances of losing it and keeping it off are better." |

Then take it or leave it, atty1973. I posted because the author of this thread might find it helpful, or not, as the case may be.
redroxco, I'm sorry you felt the need to delete your post. It contained, as always, excellent points. |
