Daily vegetable consumption...

like i posted earlier...i am not a vegetable eater...at all !!...but this diet works and i will play the game and stick to the rules 100%...w/ zero cheating....
questions is, i can tolerate spinach leaves for a whole salad for lunch....will that be adequete for my required daily intake for veggies ??
i am actually eating it one giant leaf at a time....and pulling off the stems.... but hey, whatever works..right..
i figured the day i planning on eating this type of salad...i wont have to eat the veggies in the morning and dinner...
(by the way...i tried using the search option above to search for some of these answers so the newbies dont have to keep asking redundant questions...but its not the best search tool...)

I think the point of spacing out the veggies is so that we don't pig out at the other meals - that we have enough whole foods/veggies at EACH meal. This will not only control our portions automatically, but most veggies contain fiber. If you read the book, you'll remember that fiber is one of those digestive stopper/slowers. So, the veggies work with your meal, each meal, to slow down how fast the rest of your food hits your system. So, you will stay more full longer. That is why you should have some at each meal. I think that avoiding veggies at dinner, you'll run into late-night cravings and hunger. This might cause you to cheat or go over on your calories (not that we count, but we should pay attention a little).

I buy "baby spinach" which is more expensive but defiantely worth it. There are no dry,crusty stems to remove; the stems are so small and soft that I don't have to pick through the bag before using. Give it a try!
