Hi everyone. I am on my first go round with SBD. I am 26 y/o and I want to lose around 50lbs. Granted it may not be that much if it also turns to muscle from working out so I'm thinner! :D

I did Atkins a yr ago and lost 11 lbs in the first two weeks but it was too restrictive. I think SBD will do wonders for me but I don't have enough food ideas and I am not the most creative when it comes to food ideas.

My tough time is breakfast as I am not an egg eater or big veggie fan. I so want this to work! But finding food I can eat and that I kinda like is my challenge at the moment.

Any ideas for me??

Thanks in advance for any info or ideas you have!!

BTW, I am going to Phoenix in 3 wks and Florida in May and I want to be able to look forward to going.....and to not be so self concious of my body! Phoenix might be shot but hopefully there is hope for Florida!

Good luck Jessica,
We are all here for you every step of the way!
As for breakfast: I was sick of eggs after 1 week but got some great recipes from people.
Just do a search on this site for Breakfast and you'll find lots of non-egg
recipes. But remember protein is the key and eggs are VERY high in protein.

I don't like eggs and am a problem veggie wise, as well. In phase I I tended towards having turkey bacon and yogurt. I knew and know there should be veggies in there, but so far I just haven't had any luck finding ones I'll eat for breakfast. I may break down and try to figure out a way to drink that nasty V8 crap.

JessicaMN: Hi and welcome to SB!

As for breakfast ideas, is it the traditional scrambled/omelet style of eggs you don't like? I don't like eggs that way either but will eat hard boiled eggs. You may want to see if you can eat eggs that way and if you cook them ahead of time they make for a really quick breakfast. Sometimes I have a cheesestick or cottage cheese for breakfast. Also, you don't have to have breakfast for breakfast, you can have leftovers from lunch or dinner etc..., right now I am really looking forward to milk and cereal next week.

You may want to check the FAQ sticky for Phase 1 breakfast ideas:

As for veggies, caeser salads are how I've been getting in my veggies for the day. I think veggies are something we all have to reconcile ourselves with and learn to love.

I am also going to FL in May and would love to have a buddy with the same goals to help me stay motivated. I started a thread for Phase 1 beachers with 50+ to lose, you should come over and join us!:

Hi! I too tried Atkins and felt the same way as you - too restrictive. This diet is great!

If your not a big breakfast food lover you can eat anything acceptable from the food list. I like turkey roll ups for a change.

The best advice I can give is - read lables! There's things you might think that are ok, but aren't and vice verca.
