| Yesterday my brother and I went out to dinner at Friendly's - it's his last farwell to fried food (he starting south beach too!) I made sure I got one of the carb friendly salads. I had to pick through the carrots, but it was more the dressing I was worried about. I didn't have any more then 2tbsp of the blue cheese, but I can only imagine what sugar's "restaurant" dressings could have in them. Does anyone think this will make a huge difference? I'm almost to phase 2 as well I don't know if that changes any thing. |

I have looked at many brands of blue cheese. To my knowledge the grams of sugar in all that I have looked at have the recommended amounts for SB. What surprises me is the fat content, while this is not an issue, personally, I try to alternate a lower fat dressing with the reg. blue cheese, which I just love.
Blue cheese is a good choice when eating out. Better than others, in my opinion.
By the way, carrots are an okay veggie in P2 I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. |

Thanks, I feel better. I've been so strict and so good about eating nothing wrong I couldn't help but feel I cheated. It was my first time dining out since starting this diet so I think that may have been another issue. Thanks again! |

| We are always better off eating what we make for ourselves when we can control the ingredients and know exactly what we are eating. But if we did that 100% of the time, it ignore the reality that we all eat out in restaurants occasionally, and some more than others! So learning to eat out is as important a skill to learn as how to read a label and ingredient list! Often it is a "do the best we can do" approach in a restaurant, especially when we don't know exactly what is in what we eat. Sounds like you did fine! |
