I just read the book, and will be starting Phase 1 later this week. I have a business trip the first part of the week-and will be forced to eat what is provided, BUT am anxious to start by next weekend at the latest. When I make up my grocery list, what are some ideas/must have's that you all recommend? I've done Atkins a few times - the first time (6 years ago) I lost 50 lbs. - it worked great. I got lazy, and slowly gained it all back. The last few times I've tried Atkins - I haven't lost a thing. My doc recommended SBD - so, here I am!

Some must haves for me are:

2% cottage cheese cups
String Cheese sticks
No sugar added Fudgesicles
Vacuum packed tuna
Avacados
Decaf tea
Diet Cherry Coke
Chickpeas

I started last Monday and this is a list of the main things I've been living off of this week but they are also items that are quick to fix or require no effort to fix and will help keep you satisfied this week.

My only other tip is that I had attempted to start at least 3 other times before and my biggest problem is that I was trying to follow the book's meal plan too closely, which is pretty darn hard unless you have a personal chef LOL. So my main point is: read the approved foods lists and get an idea of what you would eat for two weeks or at least what you would eat for two days and construct meals out of those.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Lots of salad stuff - lettuce, peppers, onions, LF cheese

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick reference lists! I'm excited to start - but I knew that with my trip coming tomorrow I would be setting myself up for failure to mess up the Phase 1 plan before I barely got started!
I want to lose 55 lbs. -- I lost it 6 years ago, with Atkins, and it slowly came back and "found me" again! AGH! Now - I'm older, have the menopause factor, and am more sedentary with a full-time office job. I know that I will have to work harder and be more dedicated! I look forward to sharing ideas and support with you!
