I just started PH2 Monday and for some reason i think i'm making this harder than it needs to be. I added in oatmeal in the morning and that's it. Well, i was getting hungry and had some chocolate cravings so i cut it out today and they are still back. I ate a whole wheat, oat bran pita for a snack just to put something in my diet because if i didn't, i'm still on ph 1. Anyway, can someone let me know what their menu is starting PH2 so i can get an idea. I eat Wendy's chili for lunch(love it), would that give me cravings? For the women, next week is that time of the month(whopee.) and does that still effect you because i still tired and maybe that's where my hunger and cravings are coming from!
Thanks for any help! I tend to overthink things! :?

The chili should give you no cravings, it's P1-friendly. I read somewhere on this forum that you're better off introducing your 1st few cards around midday. I added a WW tortilla (1/day) the first week and was fine. Then blueberries were next. If I were in your shoes and I still had cravings, I'd go back on P1 for 2-3 days (no more!), then try a good carb at either lunch or dinner. The craving could also be from that TOM -- I had cravings during mine, and I was craving-free before that. Good luck!

Chili is fine, as long as it is made with lean meat and tomato sauce with low suger. I'm not sure if it would be okay for the SB WOE. It may have threw you off a bit, I'm not sure. If it that "time of the month" for me, I tend to have a few more cravings that usually.

I'm in the 2nd week of P2. The first week I started with adding an apple for a snack. This week I added a slice of whole wheat bread for lunch. I'm still not too sure about next week.

If you are having chocolate cravings, try the PB cup recipe. It is fantastic!!! Just make sure that you don't go over you nut allowance for the day.

1 (No Suger Added) Fudgsicle
1-2 T Natural Peanut Butter
1-2 T Fat Free Cool Whip

Put the Fudgsicle in a bowl and microwave it for 12 secs. Just enough to get the stick out. Add remaining ingredients and mix. Refreeze and it ready to eat!

Hope this helps!

Some people (myself included) have found that oatmeal brought back cravings and just plain made you feel hungry. Maybe try a different grain to add back. Brown rice with stir-fry, or a sandwich of ww pita, hummus and cucumber slices, or maybe Kashi Go Lean cereal instead of oatmeal.

Much of P2 is experimentation: what works for you, where do you have problems, what can/can't you add. If you haven't yet done so, I'd highly recommend reading RedRoxCo's note about South Beach Myths - it's in the South Beach Diet section as a sticky - a great resource.

It's so interesting how each person is different. Steel cut oatmeal has been fine for me, but give me a piece of bread, and forget it. I also find that bread wreaks mor havoc with my hypoglycemia, where things like oatmeal and Kashi are fine.
