Hello everybody !
There is a gang of us invading this board.................we will need all of your support......and help....and expertise !!

We are ALL a bit timid about leaving our "comfort zone" on the PH 1 board.......but know it is time we move on.

So far...we have all had great success.......and we are all in this for the long haul.

Please make us feel WELCOME.......we are a fun and sometimes a little "off-color" group......but we all enjoy a chuckle or two......(laughing burns calories.....right ?????)

So a big 'ole TEXAS sizes HI to everyone !! :D

Welcome joesuzzi and the rest of the gang. I have read some of your recipes and they sound real yummy!! You sound so enthusiastic! Hope you enjoy Phase 2 as much as you did Phase 1. Lots of good posts on here and all very helpful.

Hail, hail, the gang's all here (ok, well we're almost all here, LOL).
Josuzzi - I had oatmeal this morning and I'm going to have strawberry's in a bit. So, you're in Texas? I'm in coastal NC. Can you think of a shorter name for yourself? If not, I'm just going to post to Dove, LOL! I'm actually up part of a pound today, but that's what I get for weighing every day. I'm have GOT to stop that! I ain't changin' that ticker either, LOL. I'll just wait 'til Friday, my official weigh in day.
We went out last night and everything in that restaurant was fried, so I had 1/2 peck of steamed oysters, water and a glass of wine. I should have had vegetables, but they were all drenched in fat, so I just didn't. By the time I got home, I wasn't hungry so I didn't make myself eat a salad or something which I should have done. My ab-lounger is supposedly on it's way, but I don't know if people are shipping on Monday or not. Kat

joesuzzi,

I am also new to Phase 2, as I stated in my other post. I can't believe we're all so excited about cereal and fruit! This morning I had Kashi go lean and boy was it good! Now that we can have fruit and grains again, Im really excited about this again. I think I could eat this way for good, even if it takes forever to lose the weight. As my husband says, don't try to lose it all at once. Of, course he eats anything he wants and never gains.

THANK YOU Slide87* for the nice welcome........................I have cooked more in the past 3 weeks than I have in the past 4 years (when we retired !!)

Yup, I am trying new receipes.........and finding there are veggies out there I like..................I am determined to lose this weight and I know the only way it is going to happen is to retain myself and my eating habits...I am 53.............so it is time, don't'ch think???

Kat............just call me Suz...(I am Suzzi...hubby is Joe....hence..Joesuzzi)
BTW...I weigh in everyday too.............I am not as anal as I was about it....I don't worry if I gain a pound one day...it is usually water weight from too much salt.....but seeing that extra pound helps me to really behave so I get good results the next day. I need daily motivation and "big Bertha" (isn't that what you call your scale???), well...she is my motivation !

Hope someone can answer a question for me????

I am eating alot of olive oil (never had it before SB)...but now I put it on almost everything ! Does the olive oil play a big part in the weigh loss???

or....is it because I have REPLACED butter with the olive oil???

You can see I am trying to pick apart the diet and find out WHY it is working !! Cutting way back on SALT (mostly garlic salt) is helping me alot too.................I used a ton of it before...now I am adding spices instead and so far so good.

Love the receipe section here at the beach.................some sound wonderful...I gotta try them !

I'm also cooking more than I have in years. Using fresh ingredients. I'm 48, but I founded a humane society a year and half ago, and got so busy we just ate out a lot. Also just zapped stuff at home or made pots of stews or soups (usually chowders with lots of potatoes and 1/2 & 1/2. Today Glenn is cooking some steaks, and I'll have SB mashed potatoes and salad. I think he used a no no to marinade the steak, but he say's not much. I tried the dipped strawberries............ ORGASMIC! I only ate 6 which I thought was amazing for me, I am true chocoholic. We love pork picatta, but my recipe calls for seasoned bread crumbs, so I'm going to make some with whole wheat bread and italian seasoning. Everything else in it appears to be safe. SUZZI - I've noticed the same thing about myself. I see a slight game and I'm not depressed, just more aware. I know some fluctuation is normal, esp. since I am perimenopausal. I am taking B-6 and another supplement to try to keep the water off. Kat

Momone - Don'tcha just hate that? I used to be that way in my 20's and 30's. Now I just LOOK at food and gain weight. Kat

Hi everyone, I'm also part of the gang coming over from the P1 board. I added in a piece of whole wheat bread today... definatly not as good as i expected. tomorrow i think i'll add some fruit.

Kat, Suzzi- i do the same thing with weighing in and also use it as motivation for the day.

anyways i have to study for midterms, i'll check in again later.

keep up the good work everyone.

Welcom all Phase II
This is great to have so many together on this phase. I too have never cooked so much, but I have really learned to eat alot better and those food labels are enough to make you gag when you really start paying attention. Im so happy to have such support...it really helps me
I have started to buy the large portobello mushrooms and making a stuffing out of mushrooms, onion, spinach with small amount of cream and bake them for about 15 minues, delish!!!! with salad for dinner. Its fun for me to invent these new dinners ....

LYNDA - Not only that, but it takes me like FOREVER to shop anymore. I'm reading everything and comparing so much. I've noticed a lot of "low carb" items are not much different from the cheaper regular version. COLLEGEGIRL- good luck with your studying, glad to hear we're not alone in the weighing every day no-no :) Suz - How do you break up paragraphs here? I notice my HTML isn't working. Kat

okie dokie, TIP FOR THE DAY. If you use whole wheat bread crumbs, the meat will look "burnt" not "golden brown" Kat

:D Hi Gang...

Even though I don't start Phase 2 officially till tomorrow, I decided to drop in here and post because I saw that Suzzi started a new thread over here.

Congratulations to all of you on your weight loss!! Hopefully, as soon as TOM is over, mine will pick up the pace a little.

I too am guilty of daily weigh ins, but for me, I need that motivation. At least right now.... Maybe when I start seeing more progress it won't be so bad, but I really do use the daily weigh ins to keep myself in check.

I am also starting my excersise program tomorrow. The kids are on mid-winter break, so I don't have to worry about getting them up for school, and staying on their butts so we get out of the house on time. You'd think now that they are in high school, that they could get up on their own, but if it weren't for me, they'd be late all the time. My son is the worst. Definitely not a morning person. My daughter on the other hand is just the opposite. She gets up pretty easy, but her downfall is she spends alot of time in front of the mirror. She is a cutie though... just primps too long. Anyway, I'm hoping that getting a week of excersise in, will get me in a groove that won't stop when they go back to school next week.

For those that are interested, here is the WATP 21 day schedule that I mentioned over on the other thread. For those that don't have all of the tapes that I mentioned earlier, they are available I think at walkawaythepounds.com, and on amazon.com. Just fyi.... and if you want, you can just sub a different tape for the days that mention one that you don't have. I think the point is to mix it up, so that it doesn't get boring, and we don't excersise. Also, I highly reccomend the 3 lb. weighted balls (or 3 lb. weights) to go with your workout... (available on the WATP website). When I was doing the workouts before, they really did add a noticeable burn. The more we work those muscles, the better for us. Good way to speed up that metabolism. I'm also adding the approximate time that it will take to do the workouts so you know how much time you need to make available for yourself. Anyway, here goes.... sorry for rambling.

Day 1 - 1 Mile Video & 10 Minute Tone Up Video (approx. 30 min.)
Day 2 - 2 Mile Video (approx. 30 min.)
Day 3 - 3 Mile Video (approx. 47 min.)
Day 4 - 1 Mile Video & 10 Minute Tone Up Video (approx. 30 min.)
Day 5 - 2 Mile Video (approx. 30 min.)
Day 6 - 3 Mile Video (approx. 47 min.)
Day 7 - 3 Mile Video & 10 Minute Tone Up Video (approx. 57 min.)
Day 8 - Power Mile Video (approx. 20 min.)
Day 9 - 2 Mile Video (approx. 30 min.)
Day 10 - 3 Mile Video (approx. 47 min.)
Day 11 - 10 Minute Tone Up Video (approx. 10 min.)
Day 12 - Power Mile Video (approx. 20 min.)
Day 13 - 3 Mile Video & 10 Minute Tone Up Video (approx. 57 min.)
Day 14 - 2 Mile Video (approx. 30 min.)
Day 15 - 30 Minute Walk Video (approx. 30 min.)
Day 16 - 2 Mile Video (approx. 30 min.)
Day 17 - 1 Mile Video & 10 Minute Tone Up Video (approx. 30 min.)
Day 18 - Power Mile Video (approx. 20 min.)
Day 19 - 30 Minute Walk Video (approx. 30 min.)
Day 20 - Power Mile Video & 10 Minute Tone Up Video (approx. 30 min.)
Day 21 - 3 Mile Video (approx. 47 min.)

Okay, there you have it... Mix it up however you like. For me, I like having something that tells me what to do, to keep me accountable.

They say it takes 21 days to make something a habit. And this would be a good habit to make. We are SO worth it!!

Here's to us ladies and gentlemen... and our upcoming healthier, slimmer, and fit bodies. We can do this!!

Take care everyone!!

p.s. Suzzi, I'll have to try those strawberries! Sounds yummy!! Glad you liked them with the wine. It's a weird thing... something I never would have thought of... but not a bad way to enjoy wine. Isn't red wine supposed to be good for you?

Hey all!! Welcome to the P2 forum! What took you so long??? ;)

Seriously, I really think the camraderie your "group" has formed is really good. Whatever works! Good luck and enjoy P2. It really is the heart of the eating program and it does work. Slow and steady will win out in the end! Keep up the good work and enjoy your "new" foods!! (In moderation of course!) :)

SMOOTH - Thanks for posting your schedule. I know that took a lot of time. Red wine is definitely good for you. Even Dr. A say's so several times in the book. REDROX - Thanks! Any pointers, besides adding slowly? Kat
