Okay here is the scoop. I am sure some of you have seen on past posts that I have had a hard time in P2. I have lost nothing and gained 2 pounds. I slowly starting having cravings and it is getting worse and worse. I am going to be completely honest. The last two weeks have not been SB. I have been cheating more than dieting and of cours and I now up a total of 5 pounds from my 7 pound P1 loss. I feel horrible about myself, but I am ready to change it. Of course I am having cravings for the sweets. Here is my dilemma. Do I go back to P1 for 2 weeks or until I loose the 5 pounds, or go back to a strict P2? I feel I will never be able to change my eating habits for good. I guess I will always have to be one of the strict eaters and cannot give in at least a little. Please give advice and help.
Thankd in advance! |

| Since you're having cravings, I would go back to P1. At least for a week and see how you do. |

That sounds good to me.
In the meantime, we should try to figure out what's going wrong so you can move into a successful p2 in a week or so. I looked back at some of your other posts, and it looks like you were eating some high GI cereals-- those can easily lead to cravings. Maybe you can really check all your products to see if there are other foods that are messing you up.
In another thread, you were eating very, very low calories-- it looked like you were really skimping on your good fats, which is not a good idea. There may be some other ways in which you can improve your caloric intake, too. |

Kimboroni,
I am starting back on P1 today. Will you check my menu
Breakfast: 2 hard boiled eggs
Snack: Carb monitor yoplait yogurt
Lunch: salad with green, red, yellow peppers
Light ranch dressing
Hamburger patty with melted cheese, lettuce, tomatoe
Snack: Celery sticks with laughing cow cheese
Dinner: Steak
salad with light ranch
steamed brocolli
Dessert: SF Jello
What do you think. This will now be my third time on P1. It seems that P2 is where I ultimately fail. I know I do not have much to loose, but it is still frustrating and troublesome the 20 pounds I want to loose. It seems that I cannot give in even a little. I loose my will power or something. Any more suggestions on better caloric intake would be great. I have gotten rid of the cereal. It wasn't very good taste wise to me anyway. I have been sticking to eggs for breakfast. |

How about a bigger breakfast? Add some veggies, and maybe some additional protein. A cup of milk or yogurt would be good. Ditch the low-carb stuff and get some real yogurt that contains good carbs. Try to get in your 2-3 cups of milk/yogurt every day-- it will get your calories and calcium up.
Make sure to use a full 2 tbsp of dressing at lunch and dinner (4 tbsp total). And can you eat nuts? Get in a serving of those every day.
Your veggie intake looks excellent! If you want, you can have some beans as part of the veggies.
I hope you can do p2 soon in a way that won't make you feel deprived. You're kind of doing what Redroxco calls a "spin cycle" of repeating p1, and it's hard to get your momentum going the right way when that's the pattern. JapanLynn posted a thread in Recipes/Food called "Lightbulb moment," and it looked like she kind of broke through this same pattern-- maybe you'll find some inspiration there from someone who's been there! |
