I seem to have attracted a virus and right now don't really care if I ever eat again.
I'm going to eat some cheese and veggies before bed to keep the midnight growlies away -- seems logical.
Anyone else got the "an alien invaded my sinuses" virus that is going around -- and what are you managing to eat? |

Hey Siobhansmom, sorry to hear that you're sick. I've been sick for about 5 days as well. Each day I've added a new symptom...started with a sore throat, then the stuffy nose, then a stuffy/runny nose, then the sneezing, and now the coughing. Yay!
I've definitely been having a hard time eating. My appetite has been gone, and things don't taste good. As for what I've been managing to eat, I've been drinking tea (even though I don't normally), had some fat-free reduced sodium chicken broth, yogurt, some cheese, sliced green peppers, and WW toast with peanut butter. I know I haven't been eating enough, but I figure as long as I manage to get some food down, I'm doing the best I can.
Hope you feel better soon and can handle eating something! |

I've got it too. I've been eating whatever I can keep down, but since my throat is swollen and it hurts to swallow, I'm mostly on a liquid diet. There's a sugar-free Carnation Instant Breakfast (chocolate flavor) that I use for my breakfast, soup for lunch, and I've not been eating dinner. As my appetite comes back, and the swelling goes down, I'll jump back onto a full P2.
Get better! :D |

| I've had the virus too (for a week). I decided that my health was most important, so I ate things like chicken noodle soup, whatever I felt like eating (which was not a lot). Now that I'm feeling almost better, I found that I lost more weight while I was sick than in a normal week. So if there's nothing SBD-friendly that you can eat, as long as you're not eating a lot, I think it's fine to go off the diet for a couple days while sick. It worked for me: I lost 4 lbs. in about a week in Phase 2 and I even ate chocolate on V-day. |
