I'm just entering phase 2 but want to plan to bring popcorn back in on "movienight" - my questions is, i just bought a popcorn popper to match my kitchen and want to use it - can we use a popcorn popper and use canola oil to pop the corn?
2nd question, can we have semisweet choc chips (like Nestle) as a snack, if so, how many - for some reason i used to love the choc covered raisins and popcorn but if i can't have the raisins, i would be happy to replace it with just the chocolate.
3rd question - i ate an apple for my first fruit for the first time today and tho i don't have cravings, i now i have a major headache (i think i need to try a banana next) - is that normal??? can we eat treats thruout the day - like sf jello as a snack along with some seeds or even just alone?
and # 4: Now that i added back in the apple, can i add in a starch today too like peas/carrots with dinner? or do you recommend waiting a little bit. |

Whew! :)

Yes, they recently added stove-top popcorn to the food list. I'd check there to make sure you're fitting the guidelines.

A little bit is fine-- just watch for cravings. Nestle choc chips fit the dark/bittersweet/semi-sweet allowances for p2 chocolate. Choc-covered raisins probably use milk chocolate, which isn't recommended.
3rd question - i ate an apple for my first fruit for the first time today and tho i don't have cravings, i now i have a major headache (i think i need to try a banana next) - is that normal??? can we eat treats thruout the day - like sf jello as a snack along with some seeds or even just alone?
SF Jello fits under the 75 calories, so as long as you don't go over that number, you can have it throughout the day.
Maybe you got a sugar rush and crash from the apple that caused the headache. Two things to try: 1) maybe a tarter variety would be better and/or 2) make sure you use a "sugar stopper" (page 55 in the book) to slow down sugar absorption. Not everyone needs them, but many do.
and # 4: Now that i added back in the apple, can i add in a starch today too like peas/carrots with dinner? or do you recommend waiting a little bit.
Maybe wait a few days to see how the apple goes. |

| thank you so much for answering ... maybe one other question: i spent about an hour at the store looking for bread (they were all out of the WW english muffins and WW bagels) - a lof of the whole grain breads have corn syrup and stuff like honey added - but are made with stoneground or whole oats and grains ... what ingredients other than the typical enriched/bleached/etc ingredients should i watch out for. |
