Hello all!
So I am on week 3 of phase two and I am craving bad foods terribly. I am fine when there are only good foods in the house, but yesterday was Valentine's Day and my boyfriends birthday, so we have lots of yummy and unhealthy foods in the house. I have chocolate truffles he got me, we have brownies, boston creme cake, eclairs, etc. How bad is it to cheat and have a little treat? I definitely won't eat a whole slice of cake, but maybe a bite of each? I have lost a total of 14 pounds in 4 weeks and don't want to ruin my progress....please advise!
Thank you! |

If you do decide to have a little bit, don't do it on an empty stomach. Eat a good SB meal, and then sample just a bit and enjoy it. If you get any kind of sugar rush, immediately follow it up with some nuts or something to slow sugar absorption.
Are you sure you're eating enough? You shouldn't be having cravings this far into the plan. |

I'm in week 5 of phase 2, and my cravings are gone. However, if I had a house full of brownies, eclairs, cake etc. I don't know how well I would be doing! People bring treats to work and I ignore them with no problem but at home, I think it might be a different story.
Have you been having the allowed sweet treats? SB peanut butter cup, SF fudgsicles, ff pudding, a little dark chocolate - these are all okay in moderation in P2 and should help with the cravings for something sweet. Check out the dessert recipes in the food forum for more ideas if you are interested.
Kim's advice re: sugar stopper is also a good idea, I find that if I do have a sweet, even fruit, I try to have some protein with it. Not only does it make the snack a bit bigger and more filling, it helps stop the sugar from absorbing as quickly.
One last point - if it were me, I would explain to BF that as nice as it was to receive a gift for Valentine's day, the truffles are not on your menu these days. Maybe you can give them to someone or take them to work or school to share with others? |
