Today is the first "official" day of P2 for me. I did go out for dinner last night to celebrate Valentine's Day. I am a server, and have to work tonight. I did fairly well, still. My roll was sourdough, so that was good. I had filet migon and lobster with a spring salad with ranch...it did have a few croutons, maybe five. I also took two bites of wild rice and had a bailey's, kaluah and vodka martini. So, not great, but coulda been worse, I guess. I did pass on dessert!
I am nervous to start P2. I lost 7 lb in the first 6 days of P1 and haven't lost since. So, here it goes.
Today I added a few strawberries...mmmmm.
Here's hoping!!! |

So I just started Phase 2 today and it didn't seem to go so well. I had a bowl of Kashi Go Lean cereal for Breakfast, but I couldn't finish even half of it. It filled me up so quick and it was dry and hard to swallow. Following it with water each bite also helped to fill me up. I also had my Vegetable juice. This morning I was dragging. I couldn't focus as well as I had been on Phase one and I was never able to catch up. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know an easier to swallow cereal? I liked the taste and all of the Go Lean cereal, but the swallowing was not so easy.
I also have another questions about where the pudding fits into the day? It is mostly composed of milk, but I see it on the sweet treat list. I thought that even in phase 2 sweet treats were not to exceed 75 calories. The s/f Fat free pudding has 80 calories with skim milk. Dumb question I'm sure but is skim milk the same as fat free? I made the pudding with fat free milk.
Sorry to ask so many questions, but I'm really enjoying the many benefits this way of life has affected. I've been able to focus better, I've been happier, and I feel healthier, losing weight is just a benefit of the previous things.
Thanks for your help and I look forward to talking to you more!

Lisalou, this is the info posted about it in the p2 food list in my FAQ:
CarolG wrote: The 1/2 cup of milk in each serving of FF/SF pudding counts towards your 2-3 cup daily dairy allowance. The remaining calories in the pudding count towards the 75-calorie Sweet Treat allowance.
Skim and fat-free milk are the same thing, so no worries there.
I don't know what to say about GoLean. With milk and adequate chewing, I haven't had any trouble with it being dry or hard to swallow. I prefer the taste of Good Friends, but lots of people here really like GoLean.
If you felt like you were dragging this morning, maybe grains won't work for you in the morning. Or maybe have a smaller portion of cereal with an egg or some other protein. |

| I read that last night which is where I got the idea for the pudding, but I guess I missed that part. It makes sense. the 35 calories for the pudding go towards sweets and the other 45 go toward the milk total. Thanks for your help. I'm new to all of this bu t very interested in figuring out how I can do it better. Thanks again. I was thinking about trying that in the moring only doing half the cereal serving, but i didn't know if that would be bad for my fiber intake that morning. Thanks again! :D |

| Maybe try some old fashioned oatmeal one morning instead of the KGL. It certainly is a lot easier to chew! Or pour the milk in the KGL and go do something else for 5-10 minutes and come back to it once it has had a chance to soften a bit and see if that is easier for you. |
