General guidelines are greater than 8 gms of fiber and less than 8 gms of sugar per serving. You didn't list the nutrition info, but yes with brown sugar the 2nd ingredient and also having HFCS, it doesn't look like it would meet those guidelines very well. Really there aren't too many cereals out there that fall into that category. Heck, even oatmeal doesn't technically meet it, but has no sugar and is very heart healthy, so it seems to get a pass on the fiber content. As always, Kimboroni's FAQ, has most of these kinds of answers. Check the P2 food list from the P2 FAQ for general guidelines and there is also a Q with an A that is a post from the SBD website on allowed cereals. It looks like this:

How do I find a good cereal? Is there a list of approved cereals?

FIW, Our favorites are the Kashi Go Lean or Kashi Good Friends mixed in with some Uncle Sam's to sweeten up the Sam's which is very low sugar. We tend to alternate that with the old fashioned oatmeal during the week.

You two have the right sense of this-- I found out online that it has only 2g of fiber, with 8g of sugar. That isn't going to be a good idea.

Most of these cold cereals that cereal companies are launching or reformulating are still not going to meet the SB-friendly criteria, due to some combination of the following: bad choices of grains (corn, rice), too much sugar, or bad processing (like puffing). Whole grain is only one aspect.

Let's see what the Kraft/SB alliance comes up with.
