Hey guys! I'm on day 2 of phase 1, and I have a question about food. I've read the book from cover to cover, but I'm still wondering whether it's ok, in your experience, to eat as much of the allowed foods as you like. I have been eating a TON of lowfat cheese -- muenster, swiss, string cheese, everything. I've also gone through a lot of hummus. For dinners I eat well-rounded meals with plenty of veggies and chicken or fish, but during the day I'm basically subsisting on lowfat cheese, hummus, carrots and a few cold cuts. Will the calories in the cheese negate my diet, or is it really OK? I've read the book and everything, but I'm still not totally clear about how eating such a high-calorie food (even lowfat cheese is pretty high) can help me lose weight.

In case it makes any difference, I exercise every day for at least 45 minutes, and weight train three times a week.

Thanks for your help!!

April,

In order to lose weight on any plan including SB you have to use more calories than you are taking in. Cheese can definitely be a diet buster for many, only you and your scale will know how the cheese you are eating is effecting you. If you are finding that you are gaining or stalling then I would definitely decrease your cheese intake.

Are you getting enough veggies. You mention eating plenty of them with dinner but are you eating 1/2 with breakfast and 2 cups with lunch?

Good Luck.
