It suprised me that they were SB friendly also, but I have found LOTS of posts about them. I even found a recipe where you mix a sf fudgecicle with some natural peanut butter and then freeze it. That sounds even better! I really haven't had any sweet cravings since eating sf jello and the fudgecicles.

PntButterLover-- I am also going on a trip--a cruise in August. I just want to be 130#! Although, I can be happy with 145. I'm tired of being >175. I weighed the most at my college graduation- 220 lbs. It was awful. I hate looking at that picture with my face being fat! I also have a skinny picture of me on the fridge. Hope that helps me!!!

Carrielyn-go north!

Jennlynmahan- thanks for the ticker info-you got it.

Here is something we started to do. You know how you just want to have something crunchy that isn't a vegetable? (or a carb). Use your cheese! Cut cheese in a 1/2 inch square and put on a baking sheet in a 375 degree oven for about 15-18 minutes. The cheese melts, the fat runs off and after it cools you have a nifty litte cheese "tortilla chip" that tastes wonderful with salsa or by itself as your no refrigeration needed cheese snack in your purse! It works even better if you bake it on one of those silicon baking sheets-not sticking.

Love the fudge/peanutbutter idea! thanks!

texaslady-We have used the cheese recipe. I actually cooked them in the microwave and folded them when they were about half way done. They turned into terrific taco shells.

My work ordered out lunch today and I got a SALAD. I am really pround of myself that I didn't get tempted to order something else. I jumped on the scales this morning just because I couldn't resist and I am down 3 pounds. I am excited to see what it will be after a whole week.

I feel like my pants are looser today, but I am sure it is just my imagination since I am just on day 3 of the diet. Anyway, the feeling has kept me going today!

I don't think it was your imagination! I started on Monday, 1/31 and have lost 3.5 lbs!

Hi wrote: Hi,
I also have made up my mind to start South Beach diet today.
I am 5'3'' and 115 lb. I was very slim 3 years ago, but unfortunately, after I gave birth to my second child, I put on weight,.
Now I hope, with the help of the diet to get back to my normal size.

Uh, have you checked with your doctor about losing weight? If you are 5'3" and 115 lbs you are at a 20.4 BMI. Normal BMI is 18.4 to 24.9. You are pretty close to underweight.

I weighed this morning and I am down FIVE pounds. It has been a long time since I have been this excited! I know the weight loss will not be so much the next few weeks, but I am excited to be on a downhill slide instead of an uphill crawl!

Familydieters- You can have caffience as long as it is only 1-2 servings per day. I'm a member of the South Beach website. Here's an answer about kids and the diet. I hope this helps! :D

Growing children have important nutritional needs. Before you start your child on any diet, make sure you have the approval of a pediatrician.

If you and your doctor decide to start your child on The South Beach Diet, make sure you begin with Phase 2 and provide him or her with extra milk and milk products (the calcium in milk is important for growing bones). The minimum recommended daily allowance of milk is two cups for children and three cups for teenagers. Most children and teens don't meet this minimum because they replace milk with sweetened sodas and juices. As with the adult South Beach Diet plan, make sure your child drinks low-fat, 1 percent, or fat-free milk or calcium-fortified soy milk. Other good South Beach Diet-approved sources of calcium are low-fat or fat-free cheese, low-fat cottage cheese, and part-skim ricotta cheese.

Instead of focusing on weight loss, help teach your child to avoid processed snacks and to make healthier choices such as whole grain foods, fruits, and vegetables. As a parent, you can help guide your child in the right direction for a lifetime of healthy eating habits. In addition to modifying your child’s diet, encourage him or her to get frequent exercise. Sedentary children become sedentary adults. And be sure to set a good example by eating healthily and exercising along with your child.

I will start in the morning. Better late than never I guess, it's already Feb 6th! I lost 30 lbs with weightwatchers in 2004 and I have hit a platau. I have read the book and I am convinced it will take me to the next level. I have to loose another 30 lbs, so here I go... :D

I was told this time to try a good vitamin and it wouldn't be so bad. I hope I can stick to it this time. I read the book of course but I feel like I don't know much. My trouble - I hate salad type veggies and detest eggs. Makes it tough. Maybe we can stay together and support each other. :D

i've never been able to stick to it cos of the headache and my lack of interest to GREEN  but really wanna try it again, how can i help with the headaches??

How is everyone doing on the diet? Did everyone make it through the superbowl without cheating?? I took some veggies to much on, so that I wasn't tempted by the chips. I stepped on the scale this morning and I had gained back a pound of the 5 I had lost. It IS that time of the month for me, so I am hoping I am just retaining water. LOL.
