| Hello to all ....im on the second day of P1 and so far I have a headache that will not end...went to sleep with it and woke up with it...this really is discouraging me..Im drinking lots of water and I had my regualr coffee this morning with my two hard boiled egg breakfast...what am I doing wrong? why is this headache so severe? if anyone has suggestions please let me know,,,im about to quit :shock: :shock: |

Seems like lots of people go through that during the first week (I certainly did). What worked for me was to have some milk and/or beans (like black beans, lima beans - check out Burdle's Bean Thread in the recipe section). Also, for what it's worth, it's usually over within a few days.

Hurro! Here's what Dr. Agaston has to say about headaches in phase 1 (I'm taking right off of the South Beach Diet's website...just so no one thinks I'm plagiarizing!):
Some dieters on Phase 1 experience headaches. To remedy this, make sure you eat three regular meals and all of your snacks. Snacks really are mandatory during Phase 1—they help keep your blood sugar levels steady, and skipping them could cause headaches. When snacking, choose low-fat cheese, nuts, or another good source of protein.
Also check that your portions are not too small. This is a common mistake made by new dieters. Don’t worry about counting calories. Instead, slow down, enjoy your meal, and give your stomach time to signal to your brain that you are full. Additionally, if you recently limited your caffeine intake, you may be experiencing withdrawal headaches. If so, try adding back one cup of caffeinated coffee daily. Lastly, be sure to drink plenty of water—eight to 10 glasses a day is sufficient.
Your headaches should subside over the next few days. If not, contact your doctor. |

thank you thank you! I will try all of the mentioned...I took some Motrin and it helped take the edge off. Im going to try the Lentil soup tonight to make sure Im getting enough protein...thanks again I feel like I can make it thru today...
I also sort of feel guilty eating so many times ,,,Im eating more then I usually do I gained weight from dieting and starving so my metabolism is haulted ...eating feels wrong but I know i need to...I know im eating the right things...thanks for the support :lol: |
