But I've lost NINE pounds in eight days! That's it - I'm hooked! I feel great and I'm super excited about this phenomenal jump start. I know the loss will start to taper off any minute now to a more slow, gradual pace but dangit, I'm gonna see this through!

The only thing that's slightly disheartening is that my boyfriend will lose without trying at all, just by proximity. Last night we had broiled fish, steamed green beans and a very pretty salad. So many colors and it looked so healthy, could have been in a magazine. Unfortunately, it was the first time I'd cooked fish, so it was kinda dry, but looked great! He could stand to lose about 20 pounds (I moved the scale into the kitchen as a visual aid) and I know that simply changing his dinners will do it for him. He can still eat cupcakes and drink full sugar coke. I don't care - I sure don't want it!

Thank you so much everyone! I don't know that I could have stuck it out even this far without the support on these boards.

Glad to see you know you will be settling in for longer, slow weight loss. The first bit is inspiring, but alot of people gain it right back because suddenly a loss of "only" one pound seems like it isn't worth it. BUT IT IS! Good luck.

As for fish, remember...it doesn't take very long at all to cook fish. Sometimes only 10-15 minutes in the oven or BBQ, even less in a pan!

Congrats on your weight loss.

I hung a pair of Daisy Duke shorts on my fridge handel. I have to literally move them every time I open the fridge.
