Hey there. I'm about to start the SBD tomorrow and I just wanted someone to clarify how effective this diet actually is. I've heard and read stories in the Diet Journal but I'm not sure if i'll get the same results. Most of the people going on the beach have more weight to lose than i do. I'm almost 18 years old, weigh 120 pounds and 5'2 in height. I want to know if its worth the time and effort to actually try the beach out. Does it take longer for people that have less to lose? Shorter people?
SOMEBODY ENLIGHTEN ME!
Thanks.

I think you should give it a shot....
It would help if you read the SBD book and try to avoid all the pasta, bread, potatoes and sugar for two weeks.
It's hard, trust me but I thinks you are in the good path |

chulli, empirical evidence would suggest that yes people with less to lose and perhaps even shorter people typically lose more slowly than others. Sorry! At your height and weight you could really probably just start in P2 and focus more on changing your eating habits to a healthy lifestyle program than focusing so much on the short term weight loss. My personal opinion is that this is a very healthy way of eating that provides structure and guidelines to improve your health over the long term and is well worth it from that perspective alone.
I think in the top forum (SB Diet), there are also long-running threads for Shorties and Little Losers (those with not much to lose overall). You might want to check those out or search for them to read what others have found that are in similar circumstances to your own.
Good luck! |

| gabysor- make sure you are drinking lots of water, eating plenty of veggies and beans, and having the three servings of dairy. that should help how you are feeling more than the additional protein will |
