Sometimes I have to tell myself why I'm doing this. I'm used to pretty much eating what I want, when I want, and this curbing myself gets OLD!
I have to remind myself that I will feel and look better if I eat this way.
What are some mental motivations you use to keep from cheating, or quitting? |

Some good tricks that work for me:
1. Keep your "before" picture on the fridge. I have a picture on my fridge of myself at 226 pounds. Every time I go to eat, I have to look at it and think, "Do I want to look like that again?"
2. Don't beat yourself up if you mess up a bit. Just start fresh at your next meal (why wait til tomorrow to get back on track?).
3. Reward yourself for your accomplishments. For example, maybe put a dollar in a jar for every pound you lose or every day you stay on the plan. Once you've got a good chunk of cash, go treat yourself to a manicure, a new pair of shoes, something for YOU. |

Great suggestions! Thank for sharing. I think the idea of starting over at the next meal instead of the next day is a key way to think! It smacks of success!!!
I think a reward of a dollar for every day I stay on plan would benefit me. Altho'... I've been trying to put EVERY dollar towards paying off bills! But, hey! That's just $7 a week - if it would help me out, it would be well worth it! |
