I just tried the SB diet for the first time and my Phase 1 is about to cocme to an end. The first week and a half I did not even crave any bad carbs. Today (1 day before my phase 1 ends) I am craving pizza and bread!
I don't know what I am doing wrong because I am not eating any bread, pasta, potatoes, or rice. I followed most recipes from the book!
My day is usually as follows:
Breakfast: Egg beaters eggs with 2 slices of turkey bacon and coffee
Snack: low fat string cheese
Lunch: Salad with grilled chicken or tuna
Snack: a few nuts or a protein bar
Dinner: more tuna or grilled chicken with vegetables - or any salad with beans
Dessert (if any) - sugar free pudding or the ricotta stuff with vanilla extract
I'm working out about 4 days a week too! I'm getting so frustrated! I don't know if I should continue on for phase 1 another 2 weeks or what. I just don't feel like I've lost any weight and no one has noticed. I feel lighter,, but nothing fits better (or worse).
Help! Any advice? :( |

You should check out the ingredients of those protein bars - food in bar form is not encouraged on SB. May have alot of sugar in them. Also, I don't think pudding is ok in P1 - but I might be wrong about that.
Otherwise, my only guess is that if you are working out hard, your body may crave carbs because carbs are fuel for your body. Myself, I didn't start working out til P2 because I really didn't have much energy during p1.
Maybe someone else with more experience in SBing has more to add? |

Protein bars were Atkins only and I might have had one other low carb type. If I had Atkins then I used that as a meal instead b/c they have a lot of calories.
Maybe it is the working out? |

| Bars are never allowed and I also believe that pudding is not until P2. At any rate, you just sound hungry for something more substantial. That happened to me because of my workouts, so I just moved into P2 a day early. Make the move to P2. |
