| I also started on Monday. I found this site on Sunday, but really only read some recipes and the guidelines. Right away I knew this site would be great. I'm glad to see that there are others who started at the same time. What a great idea to have this discusison! I'm a Medical Physics graduate student at the University of Wisonsin. A friend of mine told me about SB, and then my mom had a copy of the book...so here I am. I've tried WW before, and have always lost weight. But I just get tired of the counting. Being in grad school doesn't leave too much spare time. But so far I've stuck to the diet :) Good luck to everyone!! |

lkayr51 wrote: Glad to be thru day 4--I had a rough one too. The kids at school were acting "nutty" which didn't help things. I tried eggs and cottage cheese and had the same trouble that others seem to have with feeling sick. I decided to try beans mixed with a little bit of meat. Unbelieveably, it worked. Don't eat very much, but enough to keep me going till snack. If anyone had told me last week that I would be eating beans for breakfast--I'd have told them they were crazy!!! I know it sounds gross, but it works for me.
Are you supposed to keep track of your weight on a daily basis or once a week? I haven't weighed yet but am afraid if I haven't lost I'll be too discouraged to keep going. What is everyone doing?
I am assuming you are a teacher lkayr? I am too...I teach Kindergarten at a public school in VA. I find SB to be kinda hard to stick with while in school. But I am trying hard.
Day four was rough for me. Hungry and dizzy all day long (and I was eating every 3-4 hours!) However, day 4 seemed to be the hardest for me last summer too when I was on P1. So maybe I just had to hit that plateau and it will be all downhill from here. Eggs I am having no problem eating...but its all the veggies I am having a tougher time with. I don't want to be eating salads all the time and there are not very many veggies i will eat. Hopefully not eating a heapful of veggies won't stall my weightloss.
I have not weighed in yet...but I do feel like my clothes are fitting a smidge better already. I plan to weigh in on Sun. and continue to just weigh in once a week.
Hope everyone else is doing well! |

I don't know if this will be a help to anyone but I thought I would tell you what I do when I get tired of scrambled eggs. I make a custard the night before and put it in the fridge for breakfast the next morning. If I want a soy breakfast sausage or turkey bacon, I have it or sometimes the custard is filling enough.
Beat 2 eggs, add 2 tsp. vanilla,,1/4 to 1/3 cups splenda,, dash of salt, 1 pkg. equal, 1 pkg. sweet and low and 1 & 1/2 cups skim milk. Mix well and put in pyrex baking dish. Sprinkle top well with nutmeg and put in 325 oven for about 1 hour , or until set. Put a pan of hot water on bottom shelf of oven under baking dish before it starts to bake. Let cool and cover. Put in fridge until needed.
Makes 2 servings |

Yes, I am a teacher - 7th grade History and Reading. I guess I just a glutton for punishment  I too have trouble sometimes during lunch like Friday was mac and cheese day. Our cafeteria doesn't do much right but their mac and cheese is the best. Boy was it hard to sit there surrounded by all that!!
I am going to do my weigh-in on Sunday night which will hopefully get me motivated for the week.
I've done pretty good this weekend but all of a sudden I'm craving sweets. Gosh I hope this doesn't last long. Maybe its just a reaction to the diet in general.
Onward to Monday..... |

I like to weigh in first thing in the morning, and today was weigh in day. 3lbs. down. Not as good as I was hoping, BUT its a start. Last time I was on P1 I lost around 10lbs. (about 6 or 7 in the first week) so I was a little dissapointed to not see the scale move so much. However, I don't have as much to lost this time around, and my body tends to reach a pleateau right around 140lbs. so I guess I didn't do so bad.
One more week of P1 everyone...we can do it!! :D |

| I weighed in on Friday, down 4 :-) This weekend I went back home for a friend's b-day. Did very well...only had a very sliver of cake. However, I went to Red Lobster with some of my friends. I didn't have any potatoes or pasta...but did have some biscuits. Couldn't resist. Other than that, I stuck with it! Great to hear everyone is doing well 8) |

I weighed last night and lost 2 lbs. Like everyone else, I was hoping for several pounds more. I'm going to be happy for every lb lost and not complain because it was 'only' 2.
I went to that calorie counting site and found out that I am still including too much fat. Do I need to cut out all fat? I didn't eat anything except low or no fat but still seems like a lot.
Did well today so am going into tomorrow with confidence. |

Hey all, I had a dream last night that I ate a three muskateers bar (the large size) I thought about it and knew that I shouldn't eat it but I ate it anyway and then felt realy bad about it. I was soooo happy when I woke up and realized that that wasn't a dream it was a nightmare and I didn't sabotage my new WOE. Whew.... that was close. LOL
The funny thing is that I don't think I've had a three muskateer bar since I was a kid. Right now I am dreaming of SF FF chocolate jello pudding. I'll get to phase II eventually.
