Hi! I've already posted elsewhere but saw this thread and thought I'd post again. I'm doing Phase 1 again after having done it a year ago. I believe I'm more prepared this time. I know what the road blocks are ahead of me and I believe I'm committed to just making it through. I went through yesteday and cleaned out my cabinets, fridge and freezer...was a little embarrassed with how much I threw out. But, I'm serious about making this a lifestyle change. I had intended to make a weekly plan and then go shopping yesterday for the whole week but only had time to do a little shopping. If I don't have to work late tonight (still up in the air), I'm going to get a plan together and try to have stuff ready and together.

This year I'm not drinking 2 shots of espresso every day (I did that through the whole phase 1 last year) and I haven't been drinking 1-2 glasses of red wine every night prior to starting phase 1 (that was a problemo for me last year cuz I had strong cravings every night for that), so I'm hoping that will be a help for me!

Good luck everyone! I look forward to reading about y'all and going through Phase 1 with you! :D

Day 2 (or 3)

I slept in and so far have eaten a cheese stick for breakfast. I am going to go home after this and have my morning snack and a salad for lunch.

How's everyone else doing? I hope we haven't lost everyone after the first day. LOL

Day 2, and I'm feeling really tired. Normally I work out pretty hard at lunch, I think I'll have to take it easy today. Anyone else feeling really sluggish?

i have started SB today and don't know really what I'm doing except not eating carbs. I had 2 boiled eggs and 2 slices of bacon (from McDonalds) and a diet coke for breakfast and a small handful of assorted nuts for a snack. I don't have the SB book but I have been reading a bunch of this forums. I hope you don't mind me joining this group. :)

Hi, everyone. This is my second day also, I started monday. My cousin has been doing the SBD for quit some time and looks great. I want to lose 40 lbs. I lost it almost 2 years ago with LA Weight Loss, but have put it back on. LAWL is to strict for me, I found myself throwing up my food. (hope I am not being to honest with you all, but you can't see me, so I am a little more brave  ) I want to lose this weight without feeling pressure if I don't lose 2lbs or more in a week. I didn't really learn any healthy ways. I am hoping to learn it slowly.
My hubby is going to help and stop being my weakness. I hope we all get to our goals. :D

present 170
goal 130

Hi pknipp, I am doing pretty much the same thing. I have read a bunch on the internet, plus go to the library and check out the book. When you read it, it will help clear up some questions and give a better insight. You may have to place a hold on the book.

Good Luck!

I am thinking about having a grilled chicken ceaser salad from McDonalds with 1/2 of the package of Newman's ceaser salad dressing. Does that work okay with Phase 1? :?: Thanks for the reply mystikal2 :)

Hi everyone! Day 2...no, I'm not feeling sluggish today. I did find myself kinda bummed last night though. Last year when I did phase 1, I found that I typically started feeling sluggish if I didn't drink my water or if I missed a snack. I had breakfast this morning and found myself hungry by 10:00. So, I had a small V8. I brought a salad for lunch with turkey, lettuce and tomatoes...I'm going to go to the cafeteria and get some chick peas, also, to put on my salad.

Yesterday went "pretty" well. I had a hectic time at work (pretty funny because this is the first time things have been hectic since I started this new job) and didn't eat at regular times. I had to eat some chicken salad for lunch and dinner yesterday (it was good but had the full fat mayo...yuckomatic!) and I didn't have as many veggies as I should have. Here's what I ate:

B - 2 eggs scrambled
decaf soy latte
L - chicken salad
3 cheese sticks
S - 2 handfuls of nuts
D - more chicken salad (still at work)
S (later at home) - butter beans

mystikal2 and pknipp -- if you haven't been able to read the book yet, I HIGHLY recommend you read Kimboroni's FAQ (see the thread at the top of the list of threads). It has fabulous info. Also, please be sure you're also getting in dairy and legumes and veggies....not just protein. And don't forget water! That's important.

Oh, mystikal2, I meant to add that I relate with you on the LAWL diet. I tried it...it worked...but I was always hungry. I can't deal with that. I was always emotional too. And I got tired of knowing more about the diet than their counselors did. It definetly does work, though. However, like you, I didn't really learn any good habits....maybe that's my fault, but as soon as I moved to a new city, I started eating my old way and eating even larger portions (cuz I was sick of controlling my portions and weighing my food). Again, I hate to diss the diet cuz I do know that it works. Just wanted you to know that someone relates to you though!

Welcome Tracyi!! I have the same weight loss goals as you. Hopefully we can reach them.

Yesterday I finished up good and SB friendly with my foods -- cheesestick for an afternoon snack -- paresean baked chicken and turkeybacon green beans for dinner -- and a SB peanut butter cup for dessert. YUM!! I saved my sweet allowance and my nut allowance specifically for one of those. lol.

Today is day 3 for me and i am feeling a bit better today -- day 4 is usually the hardest for me to get through (at least it was last time around). I made a bean salad last night which i brought to work for lunch, but I got hungry again real quickly. I think i should've had something else with it. Maybe I'll top some lettuce with the bean salad tomorrow.

I am off to try and work out in a little bit (i have been feeling a less energy today so I may try to take it easy).

Hope everyone else is doing GREAT! :D

Hi there! I thought I'd hop on and join in. I started Phase 1 (again) on Sunday. I did pretty well with it the last time I tried (over the summer) but didn't do well once I started Phase 2. This time I'm sticking with it. I lost 40+lbs on Weight Watchers, and I've managed to keep it off for three years, but I still have 30 lbs. left. I'm happy I found this thread. I miss the support I had when I was going to Weight Watcher meetings.

Hello! I started yesterday too. It went real well - didn't feel hungry at all but today is a different subject. I did fine till this afternoon and even after supper I still am hungry. Good grief--sure will be glad to get thru this part!!
I was glad to read all your posts and find out that I'm doing the right things. I lost 40 lbs on weight watchers and then gained 20 back which makes me so mad at myself. I am determined this time.
Hope everyone has a good day three.

Just had to check in and tell you I have gotten through the second day.
B deviled egg, soy sausage, coffee
L salad(huge) fish, water
D fish, green beans, deviled egg
I felt too full to have a snack or dessert.

Does this sound o.k.? How large of a salad are we allowed?

I made the deviled eggs with a tsp. of mustard
1 tsp vinegar
1 pkg. each of equal and sweet and low. (this makes it sweeter if you mix them)
salt and pepper
enough ranch dressing to mix in with mashed yolks to fill whites.
My skinny husband even liked them.

I have walked past his pkg. of cookies on the counter all day and didn't partake of any. yeah!!!!

Good luck on our third day!
