I am very excited to be starting this diet tomorrow. Several of us at school are starting together for support. I've done all the reading and can't find anything to eat for breakfast that won't make me 'icky' at 6:00 in the morning.(meaning eggs, sausage, bacon) I hate to teach feeling that way. I've always eaten fruit in the morning. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Kay,
what about trying low fat cottage cheese, with a handful of grape tomatos. That's one of my favorite breakfasts. An alternative are Burdle's Pizza Beans (check out the Beans sticky towards the top of the recipes section), Or some of the other recipe threads. There's also nothing that says you have to have 'breakfast food' in the morning. Have last night's leftover chili...

As for skipping breakfast - try not to. One of the major points of this WOE is to maintain a fairly steady blood-sugar level. That will be difficult if you are going from dinner the night before until snack-time next day, then only giving yourself a snack.

I never ate breakfast before SBD, but I got through the first two weeks by eating eggbeaters and turkey bacon every morning. While I got thoroughly sick of them, they did help me make it through for several hours before I got hungry again. I now generally have cottage cheese (flavored with cinnamon and splenda) for breakfast, but I really think those eggbeater and bacon combos worked for me in P1. You need to try to re-set your body's expectations, and one way of doing that is to eat in the morning. Try it and see how it works.

I am 58 and was never a breakfast eater. However, I found that it is much better if I do eat in the morning. I leave for work about 6 am so I do not eat til about 9 am on my break. Does your class have a break or somthing like phys ed sometime in the am when you could eat so as to not have to eat so early? Otherwise do have something (cottage cheese, slice of lo fat cheese or beans and V8 work well) before going to school.

Thanks to all of you for the breakfast help!
I believe I'll try the cottage cheese 1st. I also like beans so that will probably be next--never thought of eating them for breakfast. I know I'll be glad to get thru P1 so I can have an apple. :>)
