Phase 2 Question

Hello everyone!! I am very excited about starting the SBD two days ago. I know that just started Phase 1, but want to get ready for Phase 2 soon. I bought the book and have one question. On the menus for Phase 2, it stated couscous but it does not say what quantity to have. How do we know how much to have? I am assuming that we should have 1/2 cup, am I right? I would love that someone come forth to answer this question for me so when I do start the next phase I do it right and not over eat too many carbs.

I think you should look for the whole wheat couscous, esp at first. The book doesn't really specify, but it only seems natural that since it is essentially a pasta, and we should only have WW pastas, that we should also have WW couscous. I think Fantastic Foods makes one. I have never really seen a definitive answer on whether regular couscous is allowed or not. Also I think a serving size is whatever the package (assuming you are using a package) says is a serving.

Finally, be careful with following the P2 menus in the book. They really seem to be more of a guideline for someone who has been in P2 for awhile instead of someone just starting out with P2.

The serving sizes of fruits and grains are pretty well outlined in the food list in my FAQ, so definitely check that out.
