I was wondering if it was ok to have an Adkins Advantage protein shake as a snack. Can someone help me?

Up to know there is not supplement approved by Dr. A.
We have to wait and see if Kraft and Dr. A. come up with some "legal" supplements later.
Your snack should be some smoothies made from milk, plain yogurt, flavorings and sweetener. In P2 you can add fruits to it.
Or you can have 1/4 cup nuts, veggies with cheese, etc. |

Also, look at the recipes for milkshake; this is what I do (and it is so, so good!)
Blenderize ice cubes (maybe 4 or so)
Then add in:
a tablespoon or so of skim ricotta
a tablespoon or so of unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 to 3/4 cup skim milk
some sf chocolate syrup (atkins has one)- may not even really need it
splenda
blenderize, and enjoy! It comes out a little different everytime, 'cause I don't measure, but that's part of the fun. Low kcal too, even though we're not really counting. Just make sure that you keep your dairy to two or less servings for the rest of the day. |
