Hi! I've been on the SB diet for 1 week and followed it to the tee. I have also included a 1hr cardio workout 3-4 times a week. I'm a little discouraged because I weighed myself today and I didn't lose a pound  What did I do wrong? I'm not giving up but I could you some insight and encouragment. My goal is to lose 40 pounds by July '05.
Thanks! |

| Do you have a lot to lose? The less you have to lose the slower it comes off sometimes. |

Yes, I have been drinking 8-12 glasses of water a day. My typical meal plan consist of:
Brkfst: Omlete w/bacon, spinach, tomato & cheese or 1 egg, sauteed zucchini, onion, bell pepper and tomato.
Lunch: Salad w/tomato and olives (grn or blk), chicken or turkey and diet jello w/lite whip cream. (or I'll have blk bns or garbanzo bns or a wrap).
Dinner: Lettuce wrap w/turkey, bacon, tomato, avacado and mustard. Blk beans or garbanzo beans. or I'll have sauteed veggies.
I drink tons of water also: diet, caff. free pepsi or flavored water.
I enjoy having a sugar free butter toffee life saver after every meal. I have a sweet tooth!
Snacks: dill pickle, olives or pistachios.
I like variety in my food. I really enjoy the SB diet because I have that opportunity to be creative with my meals. :) |

maybe too much salt in the diet and you're retaining fluid? Don't see any milk/dairy in there either. Did you just start working out or increase your physical activity? That adds muscle, which weighs more than fat (fear not, though because it burns more fat eventually!). Is it that time of the month (TOM)? That'll do it every time.
Be patient - you're doing everything right from what I'm reading. It takes time for some to show a loss. Make sure you take your measurements. Many times you won't see any improvement on the scales, but the tape keeps dropping. Smaller numbers on the scales don't necessarily mean smaller clothes, but the tape never lies!!! |
