OK - it's too bad that you haven't been able to stick to P1 because cheating does tend to keep those cravings alive - but now that's water under the bridge. Don't worry about it.
At this point I think you would do better to move to P2 right away. The longer you stay on P1 the harder it will be to stick to it. So don't stay on it any longer and move to P2. Otherwise you are just torturing yourself.
You may find that you are better able to stick to the diet in P2.

You should not stay in Phase 1 any longer than you have. Move on to Phase 2. The *cravings* that you believe you are having are more likely your body crying out for healthy carbs (grains and fruits). Please move on. You're not doing yourself any favors by staying on Phase 1. It's not healthy for you.

I can't believe you hung on that long in P1!! That's incredible! I was struggling after two weeks of it but a month? wow. I bet you'll find that P2 is absolute heaven for you. Just make sure you dont cheat OFTEN. I'm talking every day. Every other day with just a BITE of something wont hurt you, it will actually appease the cravings you're having. If you cheat, remember, ONE BITE. It works. You were destined for P2.

so, you are all going to to think i am crazy, but fiancee and I have been on phase 1 since the monday after thanksgiving, when we started SB. He is very content with it and does not want to move on and his health is what got us motivated to do this, so I don't want to do anything that will discourage him. I know we are not losing as quickly as we did in the beginning, but still steady. The only real "cheat" I had was a baked sweet potato when we went out for my birthday. My real concern is whether or not this is unhealthy, I figure it probably is, but he really loves the salads with an added protien for lunch and meat and vegies for dinner, I make a P1 dessert everynight, choc PB cup or lemonade cheesecake or SF popcicle. So... I guess my question is, are we crazy to stay on P1? if we can deal with mourning the loss of a good pizza and munchies during the playoffs I feel like he may never want to move on. He has lost 25 lbs and has about 8 more to go.

Phase 1 isn't really a balanced diet. Your body needs fruits and grains for all sorts of functions I can't think of right now. One of them is producing seratonin I think, which is a brain thing. I need as much brain power as I can get these days. I'd start shifting into Phase 2. You'll wind up stalling out in Phase 1 most likely from what I hear. Sneak some apple slices in his salads when he's not looking. Just kidding. Well, not really.
