Any ideas?
You can still use Splenda, and 1% milk if you dont like the skim. Maybe try almond extract or other no-sugar sweetners, thats what I use in my plain yogurt.
Today is my 9th day of Phase 1. Its been pretty smooth. My first day I had a little dizziness and headache but that didnt reoccur again. I havent had any less energy, have actually been working out pretty regularly, I think that is whats given me energy.
I havent had any real problems with cravings, yeah of course I want a big messy cheeseburger but not enough to actually do it, I keep my apartment stocked with only things I can have and I think thats been the biggest help.
The hardest for me is the weekends, going out and not having the right foods available, cheated a little on Saturday but other than that I've been good :D |

Ok everyone, I am new here am I am patiently trying to get my message to go into the right place!
My name is Coni and I am on day 2 of phase 1. I am doing very well with the cravings, I didnt eat to much junk in the 1st place.
I am however having a few other problems. One of thm is having to go to the bathroom every 20 seconds. Its really annoying! I am drinking crystal lite and water and they are going right through me!
Another problem I am having is my stomach growling and feeling like I am hungry. I am eting until I am full like I was told, but I'm still hungry when I go to bed? This never happened when I was eating the wrong foods.
One more problem I am having is that my face tingles. It started yesterday afternoon on day one. I feel like I just want to claw at it.
Anyone else having these problems?
A good idea for some of you might be to cook on the grill on suday and put things in tin foil individually for the week. I did that and I know I can stay ont he diet with this idea if I dont have to cook every night!

| Hey new P1-er here. :) I'm doing it with my mom and today is our first day. Can't say I'm diggin' it all that much. We're a carb and sweets lovin' family so it should be interesting how well we do. The no fruit is going to be hard for me since I'm a vegetarian and probably eat more fruit than I do veggies (bad I know). Especially bananas. :( Luckily my birthday is in a couple of weeks so I have that push me through. Having my clothes fit a bit looser would be as great a birthday present as that Scissor Sisters cd I've wanted forever (but too cheap to buy). |

| Thanks! I've never joined a diet forum before (never actually done a diet like this before), but it's definately encouraging to see people in the same situation and see the results some have gotten. Definately makes me believe I can/will get through these two weeks (even though I'm quite bitter about my fruit being banned  ) |

| I can't relate there, Ive never been a big fruit eater! But you can do anything you set your mind to. About 20 minutes ago I sat here and almost cried. For some reason I feel Kinda crummy. Like flu symptoms but I know it will pass and this is just the begining of a wonderful thing! |

| Aw sorry to hear that. :( But if you stay optimistic like that you'll definately get through it. I haven't had any physical problems but I have been going slightly crazy fighting those cravings. Why must those who love food be punished so? :( ;) |

I think one thing we all need to remember is that by eating all these healthy foods and drinking lots of water is helping our bodies to flush out all the yuckies that are stuck in there right now. This may explain some people feeling a little poor the first few days. It definately explains the excesive trips to the restroom (I think I'm at about every hour).
As others that have done this for a while will post, it's only 2 weeks until you can add some other foods back in. This is basically a cleansing phase. Everyone's body handles things differently so it may take some longer than others and some may not see/feel any yuckiness.
Good luck to everyone and remember that this board is a great place to vent your frustrations to help you through the tuff parts. When you feel like giving up or giving in to temptation, come and post first and see if it passes. Don't just give in to the temptation. You'll feel a whole lot better about yourself if you can not give in and a lot worse if you do give in. |

OMG, I am so glad to see I am not the only one in the bathroom every 5 seconds! It's like being pregnant again!
I feel mild flu symptoms today... the morning was HARD but by 3:00 today I felt fine and like I could eat again. All my options were seeming pukey. I made an omelet and it didn't make me sick or anything. |

Okay, I've just finished day 2 of phase 1. It's taking some getting used to and my fridge doesn't look like its mine.....lots of foreign objects and my beloved fruit bin is <<gasp!!>> empty!! In their place are lots of ziplocks filled with assorted plant vegetation. I wasn't hungry today but there are things I want to eat that I can't have. I assume from all I've read on here and in the book that this, too, shall pass. I hope so.
Anyway, good luck to everyone starting out. I think this is gonna be fun.
Oh, can someone tell me what that 'code' box up there does? thank you. |

Yeah, I miss a few things like fruit (bananas!), and my biggest is cereal. I use to eat cereal like crazy! (sigh) But that's okay....I really do feel so much better with this way of eating...guess I just need to get use to it.
Midori, I'm not sure what the "code" box means. Maybe someone else can help you out there?
By the way, to the coffee drinkers out there (I drink decaf), what do you use in your coffee to replace cream? Other than skim milk? Is there anything we can use? |

Hi Pierce,
Yeah, cereal!! My bowl of Crispix [my fave] always turned into a bottomless pit! If I had milk left in the bowl, I'd pour more cereal and it was too dry so I added more milk and blah blah blah........
Funny you should mention coffee....I've tried the fat free half n half and didn't care for it soooo.......I had tea this morning. |

This is too funny! I've been having tea for the past 2 mornings...Chamomile....and I'm loving the taste of it!
Hahaha! Sounds like me with the cereal! I always had a bowl every night after the kids were in bed, and I'd watch TV. Now, I'm trying to retrain myself to enjoy something a little more healthy. Like my Chamomile tea....or hot chocolate! |

| I am feeling so much better today! When I wasnt feeling well yesterday I looked up some new recipes and found meat crust pizza! It was wonderful and I didnt even miss the bread crust! Another great thing is that my kids loved it! They were amazed that it was so good the way I made it. So if you get tired of foods, try something new. It worked wonders with the way I was feeling yesterday! |
