I am really interested in taking up yoga....
Is it the yoga that keeps you toned and muscular or did you work out with weights?
What kind of yoga do you do and how often?
Thanks

Pretty much all yoga and good genes. Seriously I have always had good natural muscle definition. I do a "power" vinyasa style popularized by Baron Baptiste/Bryan Kest/Beryl Binder Birch. (My studio favors the Baron Baptiste approach/methodology but they kind of do their own thing as well.) It has been compared to an americanized version of Astanga. It's in a heated room as well. I also do a little Bikram (again heated) and a yoga sculpt with light handweights, although I haven't been doing that as much lately. The classes don't work out as well time wise it seems. On a good week 5-6 times. On a not so good week 2-3 times. So probably 3-4 times on average over time. (Edit: Just checked my online history and over the last three months I took 44 classes for an avg. of 3.4 times a week, so I was pretty close in my previous total average estimate.)
Come join us in the yoga thread in the Fitness and Exercise forum! :)
