Prednisone & eating habits

When I was 14 (I'm 28 now), I was diagnosed with lupus and put on a heavy dose of prednisone, which I stayed on for several years. Anyone who's taken a big dose can tell you that you're hungry ALL THE TIME!! I had been at a very healthy weight and very athletic before that, but I packed on about 40 pounds in a little over a year.

Fortunately, I've been healthy for a while and with the exception of one short flare about 5 years ago, I've been off prednisone for a long time. The problem is that I feel like I'm still in the prednisone mindset -- thinking about food all the time, worrying about getting hungry, eating more than I know I need just out of habit. Has anyone else experienced this? How do you shake it? I'm on day 4 of p1 and hoping that will help cut some cravings, but I feel like a lot of it's psychological and I'm not really sure how to deal with that.

Been there ,prednisone is a great drug with terrible side effects. You need it & it then does other nasty things you don't need. Your not on it now so...
You should not really ever be hungrey, esp. in ph 1.
Eat until you're satisfied,
plan ,plan, plan ... have your snacks ready .
drink.. water ,non carbonated sf drinks. (I love the MMlight drinks ,esp. mango & guava YUM! ) Tea , sf cocoa etc.
Know that your cravings WILL go away, stick with this WOE :P
It is the best gift you can ever give yourself. :o
