I have high blood pressure all the time, finally in the last year a new Dr. gave the right meds and it was normal, of course taking two pills a day,I'm
in P2 fora third week, not eating bread , and the last three days I feel lightheaded ,fuzzy, kind of dizzy etc. I took my BP today at home and is 93/50, and 2 hours latter 101/60,could the diet make such change?, Monday I'll get in touch w/ my Dr.Did anyone had the same experience. :? |

No, the diet will not do this. Your BP should be dropping as you lose weight, generally speaking, but can vary throughout the day with activity.
If the first reading was a "resting" read, it would account for the difference in numbers after being up and drinking caffeine or exercising. Think about what activities you did between the two readings, i.e., did you take a very hot bath close to the second reading, or walk up steep stairs?
Journal everything connected to your BP readings and take it to the doctor with you. DON'T WAIT. |

My family's got a history of heart disease...a number of grand parents died in their 40's. Mom's (59) doctor told her she has high blood pressure and told her to cut down on Salt. Mom and I started on SBD and have had good results, but I noticed many of the recipes are high in sodium. I know SBD's been shown to be affective against heart disease, but should Mom be worried about this?
Thanks! |

I check my bp daily to make sure I'm in an ok range. I have noticed that my bp is dropping and hopefully I'll be able to reduce my dosage soon. The only time I have a reading higher than expected is when I have a glass of wine or if I haven't waited long enough after exercise.
Elsa, are you measuring your bp at home with a monitor? Sometimes they can be inaccurate. I bought one of the more expensive models available and I take it with me to the doctor so I can measure it's accuracy to what the nurse reads.
tikku22, I routinely leave out salt in recipes even though I am on medication. I find that the sodium contents of the ingredients make the meals salty enough for me. I think anyone with high bp should watch the salt since it makes you retain water which raises bp. |
