| I got official doctor confirmation yesterday!!! I'm officially due June 6. My jeans were uncomfortably tight yesterday and I bought another pair today from Old Navy. They're the ultra low rise stretch jeans, and I can get them off without unbuttoning them. I'm hoping they'll last me through most, if not all of my pregnancy. |

| Okay, I have another report. It is 4:15. I am absolutely starving. I had Kashi and an apple for breakfast. Wheat thins for a snack. Small WW bagel with slice of ham and cheese for lunch with an apple. Yogurt for another snack. I have triscuits in my desk drawer, but I think I'll be sick if I eat them. Yuck. I can't wait to get home to my leftovers!!! |

I was glad to find this thread...I have been on Phase 3 since late July and am due with baby #2 on May 16th. :D So far I have been maintaining my weight, which has kind of surprised me since I am eating more and clothes are fitting differently.
DH (who is on Phase 2), our DD, and I have been eating a lot healthier since starting this WOE and DH wants to continue with his losing streak as I start going up. Like some others have said, I am hoping not to gain more than the recommended weight. I had a touch of gestational diabetes the first time around, and would like to to avoid it if I can this time.

| Congratulations, Jos. Good to see another pregnant former beacher. I think we'll all have healthier pregnancies because of the beach. |

Well I'm trying to eat healthy, I really am. Unfortunetly I can't bring myself to eat chicken, unless it's a chicken nugget. Apparently the food aversions have set in. I'm not having any cravings, but the only thing that sounds good to me right now is a hot roast beef sandwich on rye. Maybe I need the iron? I've never been a big red meat eater. I think the most red meat I've had in the past year is a few slices of steak that my husband gave me to put on my salad at Outback Steakhouse.
My breakfasts lately have consisted of a cup of yogurt with Total ceral added in. I figure I'm getting calcium and Total has a bunch of added vitamins and minerals like folic acid and iron. It's also made from whole grain and brown rice. It does have 5g of sugar though. But hey, it tastes good and doesn't completely turn me off, so I'll keep eating it. My snacks have been pretty SBD friendly, Deli Rye Triscuits and a wedge of Laughing Cow Light cheese. I'm seriously lacking in my fruits and veggies though :( I've been good about taking my prenatals and I also take supplements called Juice Plus that are basically 100% of the daily requirement of fruits and veggies, so I figure I'm not missing out on any nutrients baby needs.
Wow, long post. Just feeling really weird about my eating habbits though. Especially the whole roast beef thing  |

| Back2Normal- I can totally sympathize. I had chicken parmesan for dinner last night and I was really surprised that I could eat it. Yesterday, I got my Kashi cereal at about a 90 degree angle with the bowl, then decided I didn't want it afterall. I can no longer handle triscuits, don't want any nuts, and ditched the black bean soup in favor of Taco Bell for lunch today. I was so hungry I was nauseated, then felt sick for a few hours afterwards. I don't remember this with my first. |

Hi all,
Heard the heartbeat last week! It's wild!!! I'm about 8 weeks and am feeling very sick and tired. There are foods I can't eat chicken (unless it's processed to heck), some veggies and fruits, milk and eggs to name a few. Every girlfriend keeps telling me it ends after the 1st trimester and I'm hoping it does. I try to eat as healthy as I can but sometimes it just doesn't happen.
My edd is 5/31/05. I have a dr's appointment tomorrow for bloodwork and who knows what other fun tests. I hope everyone else is feeling well and congrats!!!
Hugs,
Ann |

Well, I went to the Dr. last evening and found out I was a couple of weeks farther along than I thought. EDD May 17. Actually I was kindof glad, the morning sickness has been so bad that if this one is anything like my first, I should be done with it in 2 or 3 weeks :D
I didn't get to hear a heart beat, but they did an internal ultra sound, so I got to see the baby and see the heartbeat. It is wonderful!
I need to get back on track with eating properly. I've been bad  For lunch and dinner, I've been doing pretty well, but breakfast has been bad. The sickness for me is worst in the morning. I can't do yogurt, cereal, milk, eggs...just to start the list. About all I can keep down is ww muffins, ww bagels etc. I'm just not used to eating that many carbs, though they are good ones, that has me gaining weight back  But, I'm not gaining any more with this one than with my first, so that is a good sign.
Sorry this is such a long post! Just needed to vent a little. Thanks. |

rhiannon - We have the same due date. You must have had a pretty good Labor Day weekend too
Here's something kind of weird. I've never really been able to maintain the exact same weight for more than a day or two. The scale has always bounced around a few pounds up and down. Well right after I found out, I lost a couple of pounds. Since that loss, I've maintained the exact same weight every single morning. Funny thing is, I weighed myself last night before I went to bed and the scale said 149, I kind of freaked a little bit. But, when I got back on the scale this morning, I was back down to the exact same weight I've been maintaining, 145.5. Maybe I just ate something really salty and was retaining A LOT of water? :? |

Hi all,
Had another dr's appointment yesterday for tests. The nurse took sooooo much blood I wasn't sure I'd be able to get off the table!
I asked the dr about staying on the beach and he said it's a very sensible diet and it should be ok. I forgot to ask him about Splenda and other sugar substitutes though. So, hopefully when I go back in 2 weeks to go over the test results I'll remember to ask him.
I'm trying to not be too hard on myself with eating. I feel nauseous most of the time now so whatever stays down and I can actually eat, I eat. Even if it's not the most healthy thing. Way I see it is my body wants it for a reason. Hopefully by Thanksgiving I'll be able to be better.
Back2Normal - I've heard you should only weigh yourself once a week. Why this is I don't exactly know. Maybe it's your body digesting the food and then in the morning after you've gone to the bathroom, well, you know.
Sorry so long. I hope everyone feels better soon!

Hi Everyone,
I'm so glad I found this board. I found out a few weeks ago that I'm pregnant with my first. I have had a hard time eating healthy food and I've been really concerned about feeding this baby the right things. So I started SBD yesterday. Thanks to this board I discovered I need to switch to Phase 2 or 3 right away. Which is good news, because today I'm feeling really weird, almost like I'm hungry even though I've just eaten. So I'll go add in some grains and maybe some fruit and see if that helps.
Thanks to everyone for your posts - lots of great information for us newbies!

Congratulations, Laura!!
I'm 10 weeks today. I've gained 6 pounds, so far. I'm going on vacation in 3 1/2 weeks and I'm sorry to say, but I wouldn't mind losing a pound or two. No real cravings, and I'm trying to eat pretty healthy. |

Hello everyone!! My husband and I just found out that we are expecting again. We have a 17 month old and this came as quite a surprise because I have always had a 28 day cycle until SBD. After joining the beach, my cycles were shorter. Anyway, we must have miscalculated b/c we'll be expecting our bundle of joy sometime in middle July!!!
Does anyone know if SF fudcicles are still ok during pregnancy. I know artificial sweetners are a no-no but I wasn't sure about sugar alcohols.
Also, I know soft cheeses such as feta, goat are not safe because of bacteria. What about Laughing cow??? It is a soft cheese.
Any responses would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. meg |

| Congratulations, Meg!!! I don't know about the SF fudgesicles, but personally, I'm trying to avoid all the artificial sweeteners. Yesterday I had my first regular soda in probably 10 months. I really miss my blue cheese, and I'd read the laughing cow label to see if it is pasteurized. That is they key. |
