I just found out that I am pregnant :D I have been on SBD since June and I love eating healthy and have been maintaining my weight for the last two months (I didn't have a lot to lose). I see my doctor on Wednesday and will tell him so. I just wanted to know if there is anyone else out there in the same situation.
Any advice? |

| I'm currently trying to get pregnant. I don't really have any advice for you, but would love to hear what your doctor tells you. |

Hi there,
Just found out yesterday we're expecting! Any info you get from your dr, please share. I'd be interested on what they have to say. My nurse said she thinks it would be ok to stay on the Beach (her and her hubby are on the Beach too!).
Thanks!

Good luck Vickibean!
Congrats Annmarie!
I went to my doctor last evening and he told me it was fine to stay on the beach but only Phase 3, no losing weight. I went into phase 3 a month ago, so for me it wasn't a big deal. I was glad he approved.
He said it was they way we should be eating...lost of fruits and veggies, lean meats and good carbs. The only warning he gave me was to watch my fish intake and deli meats. He limited my amout of fish because of the mercury that some fish contain. He also said do not get lunchmeat from the deli counter, get it sealed from the other part of the store...deli counter is not always paturized and has higher risk of spoiling, mold, etc.
I would like to keep this thread going for us to help out with moral support. I know I'm going to need it. :D |

Thank you!
Part of the reason I started the Beach was that I was hoping by losing the excess weight I would get pregnant. I'm on phase 2 and am a bit nervous about not getting enough nutrition to the fetus. Plus, I have waves of nausea which make me not very hungry. However, I eat when I can because I know I have to!!!
Congrats denzyn and good luck vickibean!
We should start a pg on the beach if there isn't something along those lines already!

I'm like you, I started the Beach to lose the extra weight I gained from my first. I wouldn't be nervous, if you continue to do what you are supposed to, eating the way you should and eat until you are satisfied, you'll get all the nutrients you need and so will the baby. Just make sure you take your prenatal vitamins. :D
I understand about the nausea too. I have it all day. I munch on whole wheat crackers, muffins, and yogurt. That seems to really help and I'm able to keep it down. The nausea goes away for about an hour then comes back. |

| According to my calculations, June 6. I am thinking of retiring my journal on this site and starting a new one. "Vickibean attempts to gain back the 25 pounds I just lost....and only 25" What do you think? |

I recently found out that I am pregnant. I'm due at the end of May early June too.
I'm terrified that I'm going to gain a ton of weight like my mom did with my brother and I. |

I do know that some women are more prone to gain more weight, but I also know that some women just use pregnancy as an excuse. I gained 30 pounds with my first, but I was lazy and didn't work out like I should have. I have the same concern of weight gain too. I've already gained a couple with morning sickness. If I keep something in my stomach, I don't get as sick, but with doing that, I'm gaining weight. I would prefer not to take medication to help the sickness, so I'm kind of stuck.
Any suggestions as to what I could snack on that wouldn't be so bad? I've been doing WW crackers, some fruit, but a lot of times, I can't do anything else because it wants to come back up. YUCK! |

I gained 35 pounds with my first pregnancy. I started at 180 and ended at 215. I consumed 1/2 gallon ice cream and a 1 pound bag of some type of candy each week. I never exercised.
This pregnancy it's my goal to gain 25 pounds. We'll see if that's the doctors goal in 2 weeks. I know better than to eat the way I did before, and I exercise at least 6 days a week. I don't really have morning sickness, yet, and I didn't with my 1st. I can't handle the iron in the OTC prenatal vitamins, though. I switched back to a regular multi-vitamin with folic acid.
I've also been eating WW crackers. What about oatmeal? I'm not really feeling like eating in the morning, so I'm looking for something portable to eat when I get to work. I'm thinking of individual packets of oatmeal made in coffee cups. |
