Has anyone here ever tried the Cambridge diet? I have been on it for 3 weeks, but it is just too hard to not eat any food at all.

I've never heard of it. What does it entail?

It's basically a liquid fast where you drink 3 shakes every day, and eat no food at all. You can also do like 2-3 shakes plus food as well, for slower weight loss.

Just my personal opinion, but a diet like that makes no sense because you can't stay on it forever. Much better to find an eating plan that becomes a way of life - like SBD!! :D

Does anything about this sound long-term to you? Any of these prepackaged *diets* can only lead to failure, in my opinion. On the other hand, a plan that offers real food and teaches you how to prepare them in a healthy manner? Now we're talking!!! And that's South Beach.
Meals... snacks... no starvation... no gimmicks... no drugs... no weekly meetings... I'll take this any day of the week, thanks. |

I have been struggling to stick to Optifast - another liquid diet (for about 4 months now) but I find it extremely difficult (no food, only shakes and 1 salad a day - doing Australian version) in doing so I have actually put on more weight - do it for a day cheat for a week! I have often wondered how this is not long term life style ... I guess I just wanted to quick fix to get at least some weight off. I am now looking into doing South Beach for long term benefits.
