I have not been diagnosed as such, but since all other tests are negative? Yes, joint pain is down considerably since losing 14#. Pain in the long muscles is down in severity and frequency.

I have wondered this for many years, never really asked the doc, but my hip pain continues even with a 45 pound loss...Have bursitis, nothing has ever helped. Even tried injections..I have painful points in my body also lumpyness on legs and over ribs that hurt to touch, just figure they are fatty tumors...

I used to have what I thought was fibromyalgia, had a lot of trouble recovering from exercise, but my doctor said I didn't have it, didn't have quite enough symptoms. In my case, turned out it was a wheat sensitivity. I stopped eating wheat, and many of the symptoms went away. I went from barely being able to walk a block, to walking 3-4 miles a day while on SBD. Obviously, I don't eat wheat any more.
And, klutxyazhel, I have the same type of soreness and lumps, I've found out it is clogged lymph. A lot of that has gone away for me on SBD. Still have many killer spots and lumps, tho. I work on them with gentle massage.

I am beginning to suspect a wheat sensitivity too. Maybe that is why I have always had problems controlling the amount of bread I ate? It has been said we crave what we are allergic to?

That is what I believe, colliegirl. I'm afraid if I eat one cookie or piece of bread, I won't be able to stop, on top of not being able to walk. I picture myself blowing up like a baloon in 3 seconds if I reach for wheat, so I just don't any more. This also applies to teff and spelt, which are ancient forms of wheat, so be careful of those, too.

I, too have fibromyalgia. Diagnosed about 9 years ago. I don't have it as severly as a lot of people, but flare ups happen once in a while. I'm hoping SB helps that and the diabetes that is the bane of my life. Only on 4 days now so I'm preparing myself for the long haul.

I contracted Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in 1985 as a virus. I think, as does my Dr. that this is a separate disease from Fibromyalgia. My rheumatologist considers them both the same, and treats them the same way. It could be the same virus that mutated, but the virus I caught brought on high fevers that lasted for days, an inability to move my arms and legs, severe joint pain, and killer migraines. I had just moved back to CT. with my then 6 year old son, who was the only person with me. He brought me juice and water, and later, spaghettios. I was so hazy I didn't even think of using the phone to call for help. God bless that little boy. This episode lasted well over a week, and I'm lucky to have lived through it.

So I guess I don't have fibromyalgia. Sorry for taking up valuable counter space. I think, though that Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is far worse than Fibromyalgia. You dont die from fibromyalgia, but you can from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Dr. Kevorkian, ( Dr. Death) put one CFIDS patient out of her misery. Natch he went to jail, but he's always in and out of jail. I think if I ever got that bad, I'd want to go, too.

I think Fibromalgia is often mis or self-diagnosed. Getting off of sugar has helped me tremendously with the joint pain I have been experiencing. I have a friend of disability because of Fibromalgia and believe if she will just get off of sugar she will feel better.
