Hey Mimouna, you look AWESOME!! your pics are especially inspiring to me since my goals & stats are similar to yours ... I am 5'3", almost 28 yrs old, and want to lose 30lb to reach my goal of 135.

Mimouna,

Did you lift weights or do crunches to get your arms and stomache so toned? I am doing well on the diet, but I am starting to get worried about loose skin. Can you share any tips you used? You look fantastic!!! Congrats!!!! :)

hi all. thanks for the wonderful compliments. makes a girl feel swell!!

Scarlette -- no, i really don't do anything in particular for toning those areas, but about 3-4 mornings a week i do 30 minutes exercise - situps, pushups, leg lifts, bicycle, jumping jacks, which seems to have done the trick (though i must admit ive been slacking as of late)... i think that any physical exercise helps.

Monkeygal -- yeah, our stats do sound pretty similar. i reached my goal of 30 lbs in about 3 months, readjusted it to 5 more once i saw my "new" body. since then im maintaining. i hope you get here too -- i must say, life is great on the beach!

WOW, You look awesome!!! So tell us what was your typical weight loss? After phase one you were down how much? Did you stick to it for 2 weeks or longer? After entering phase two, was it 1-2 lbs per week? Any plateau problems and how were they resolved? You can be a great motivater for many of us. Thanks for sharing!

good morning bsm. thanks for the compliment :oops:

i stayed on phase 1 for 3 weeks, and lost 12 pounds. during phase 1 i drank wine a few times a week, and had sushi once, but otherwise was pretty well behaved...

throughout phase 2 i lost about 2 lbs per week on average. i was pretty cautious at the beginning of phase 2, adding in yogurt and fibre 1 cereal first , and then sweet potatoes and brown and wild rice, and finally fruits and ww bread/crackers and so on. i did it pretty much like the book says, add one carb at a time and see how the body reacts. i also started a little mild exercise in phase 2 as well as i said earlier, maybe 3 mornings a week for 20-30 minutes, and walking some, but not more.

and what can i say, the pounds pretty much just fell off of me. at first i was even a little concerned that i was losing too much too fast, but i seem to be maintaining my new body, so the worry has kind of drifted away...

um, i had a few little plateaus here and there, but when i added variety to my diet i was able to break the plateau. well, maybe i should be more upfront, when i say variety i mean a greasy falafel or something of that ilk... but the bottom line is that variety breaks plateaus, it neednt be crap-fast food.

and guys, i really hope i can be a motivator. im so into the sbd way of life, way of eating, and have encouraged a number of friends, co-workers, and even my mother to start the plan. and its working for everyone who sticks with it!!!

and yeah, the belly button is pierced. has been for 7 years (from back before i gained the weight).

thanks to the sbd im getting to proudly show it off to more people than my boyfriend again!!!

Wow, you look soooo good. I can't believe it. You will be my inspiration, too. I was concern about the loose skin. Did you have any problem with the loose skin? Also, when you were in P1, did you have more than one snack? Keep up the good work. I just started and I'm dying to see some results! GREAT JOB!!! :lol:

hi i_mkittycat. welcome to the beach.

and no, no problem with loose skin at all. everything is as firm as i could have dreamed. but im 28, and i think that at my age skin is still pretty elastic. i dont know if thats also true for people who are older.

in p1 i had one morning and one afternoon snack, usually veggie sticks and cheese, or almonds or a hardboiled egg, something like that... its immportant to keep blood sugar levels stable, and its best to before you get too hungry (and binge), which is why the snacks are so important.
