Hi there i am now in Day Four of Phase 1.
So far SB has been really good, but now I'm finding I am constipated. I haven't had any other side affects except a slight sore head and feeling a little tired which i am told is normal.
Did anyone else feel constipated and any advice on what to take for it that doesn;t interfere with the SB?
I'd appreciate your help.
Thanks |

| Beans should help on all counts. Our resident Bean Queen, Burdle, has a whole thread of bean-a-rific ideas in the recipe/food area. |

You know, this is the second time I'm trying this diet and the constipation is coming back  My doctor told me to slow down on the protein and add lots of fruits and grains but that will defeat the whole thing... No matter how much water I drink, or veggies I eat, it's slowing my system once more
If you find something that works, please share it. Right now I'm planning on getting some Flaxseed, but I'm also using Citrucel as well, and it's still not working the way it should. |

| Metamucil caplets are wonderful! They don't make me bloated (you may not get the same result) but they are expensive. Target has a house brand that costs a lot less. |

Tried those last time I was on this diet, and they did nada. I must have taken twice the recommended dosage before I had some relief. That won't work for me. My system works really well with raisin bran, lots of fruits (dried and fresh). And if I try that, it's off the diet again  I'll keep looking for alternatives. |

| You may want to try other fiber supplements like Benefiber or Fiber Choice. I tried Fiber Choice before and they made me feel bloated and didn't do anything for the um... you know. It's possible different people react differently to different types of fiber. |

Well, I'll look into that. Hadn't thought of that possibility. I am trying Flaxseed though, and also included 2 figs today (6 grams of fiber), but it also had CARBS  Oh well, I'll cut back somewhere and exercise as well, so that should help. Thanks for the advice. |

How's your water intake? On another thread (I would've linked, but couldn't find it) there's a nice article about water. Basically the article states that depending on your size we may need more water than the 64 oz a day. This article suggest taking your weight, divide in half and drink that many ounces per day.
It can be a lot depending on your current weight. Even if you can't get that much in, just try adding a little more and see if that helps |

Thanks for all your help!
Thankfully the constipation has passed - i am usually a two or three times a day gal and because i hadn;t for two days i was a bit wary.
But things are back on track!
Thanks all! |
