| I have been on SB for 4 weeks and started 4-5 days early from my regular period. I am on the pill, much like very one else. I have one question. Will this abnormal period effect my proection with birth control? Or is my "birth control" gone since my hormones are probably all screwed up? I really dont want to get pregnant. :) |

I dont think you will get pregnant on the pill...even if your period is messed up.
My first month, I was early. Second month, on time. Third month, I was early and LONG, and this month I started spotting early! I have no idea what is going on with my body right now. I am thinking about switching from the generic pill to the real stuff. |

Wow, I am so glad I'm not alone! I came on here looking for info, and here it is in this thread!
I just had the shortest and lightest period of my life - I think. I had been off the pill for 5 years, then back on for 2 months, then off when my BP went way up, that was 2 weeks before I started the diet. I am on day 9 today of the diet, and on Sat I started spotting which was 5 days early. I have had early periods before - I'm in pre menopause and don't always ovulate - so that wasn't highly unusual. But I ALWAYS have a heavy flow - well not this time! I didn't even need one pad a day, and now it's stopped altogether. Really just spotting, I guess.
I also had what felt like ovulation cramps last week, so the earliness doesn't jive with that.
Maybe I'll get the full deal later this week. I'll have to see, I guess! |

Hi
I did the diet religiously for 2 weeks (phase 1) and then reintroduced wholegrains and apples for half a week, my period came about 2 days early and was extremely light. Did a pregnancy test which was negative and I had lower back pain as normal, very worrying. Plan to do another test soon to double check but reading these posts is very reassuring, think the Author will compensate all these freaked out woman?? Not sure if the weight loss was worth this stress tho! |

Hi everyone. I am bumping this up.
I had another cycle change question/comment. The first month on SB I was on time, but really light and it lasted about 5 days. The second month I was on time, and really heavy, and it lasted about 6 days.
This month I started 10 days early, and still had a week's worth of BC pills left (before the placebo ones). This was 8 days ago, and I am still going strong! ( I was not expecting to start for another 2 days, if I am still going on my official start day it will be 10 days long!)
Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts. How long should it last before I can start to "freak out"? This is really annoying.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts. :) |

| Wow, this is so interesting..... I'm on day 8 of phase 1, not supposed to get my period for another week, but I had all the symptoms of PMS over the weekend -- crankiness, cravings, sore boobs etc, plus I feel that my tummy (which had been getting flatter last week as my body adjusted to phase 1 and no sugar/starch etc) has gone back to normal, which could quite possibly be PMS water weight and bloating. Judging by what you've all written in the post, I'm guessing that maybe my hormones are a little messed up too and I might get it early. Would be soooo weird since I've been on the pill for several years and am normally like clockwork. Did anyone else get the PMS warning signs first or were you just early out of the blue? |

Now my periods have been comming late since I started SB. I am usually 28 on the nose but, instead have been going 35-39 days. I also have been having light spotting for several days before it actually starts then it is heavier and last longer than usual. But my doc. didn't seem concerned, felt it was just my body adjusting. Now this month I was right on time 28 days. But still early spotting and heavy, but not as bad as it was 2mo ago.
When I was younger and before I had children. My periods were always that way. But, they became shorter and lighter once I had kids!?!? |

Wow I am so glad someone mentioned this board to me - I was really worried. I have not had a "period" in about 3 years - I just turned 57 last week and had my yearly pap test - which came back NORMAL and clear. Then Friday I had a little blood, I wouldnt call it a period but still more than spotting! So should I mention it to my doctor and tell him about what everyone else is saying? I dont want my periods back but I want to continue losing weight - why is this happening did anyone find out? Is it something we are not eating or too much of something? I have started exercise a LOT more than I was cause I feel so good and now this.
Cant Dr. A address this on the board! :!: I lost 10 lbs in the last two weeks (my first phase) and have not really gotten into Phase 2 except for oatmeal.
Will it stop happening after this month? What a pain - if its this light I guess its not too bad, the weight loss is great though.
barbara (chgontve@bellsouth.net) if anyone has any other pertinent info on this please let me know. |

| I'm about 10 days late right now w/ cramping for about a week. I haven't had any spotting at all. I'm on p1 day 14. I figured it was just because of my weight loss (11 1/2 pounds in two weeks), but I didn't think it would throw it off this much. I'll weight a few more days being taking a preg test, but I didn't think I was preg? |

So whats the census for those of us out of child bearing age I mean - presumed to be in menopause or post meno? Does it stop after a month? How long does it take to stabilize? This is really heavy now have been on SB for 3 weeks and this started end of 2nd week. I dont want anymore thats more sure.
Is there an email for Dr. to answer this concern anywhere? |

| As I said in previous posts - I started my period after 4 years without one - I am 57, I went to see my GYN on Tuesday - he said I would not start bleeding because of LOW FAT DIET yet others on here are having the same problems - either skipping periods or starting them...so anyway he wants me to go have a D&C endo biopsy of the uterus. I still think it because of the low fat diet, it stopped today and my surgery is set for Feb. 11th outpatient could not do in the office because my uterus is very high. Please wish me luck that they do not find anything. I am continuing with my diet and have lost 11 lbs so far in 4 weeks. |

| Hope everything turns out well! It's probably just the diet. But, at least this way you will know for sure. Let us know what happens! |
