| hi- i am on day 5 of SBD and over all i am feeling good- with one little catch. i know most people experience constipation from the lack of fiber, but i am having quite the opposite effect. at first i thought it was just the eggs, but now my diarrhea is getting worse. does anyone else have this problem? what could be the casue? what should i do? |

I had the exact same problem, day 3 I got hit bad with it for a few days. Ive never once been constipated on the diet, I get too much fiber from all the good foods.
Mine passed after a few days, give it some...your body is just adjusting, you'll be fine. |

| I agree with Darlene... your body is going through a big adjustment right now. It should pass soon. GI systems are pretty sensitive to big changes, so give it a chance to get used to your new way of eating! |

| also, keep an eye on the amount of sugar alcohols that you are consuming - these are in a lot of the sugar free candies - boy i learned that the hard way my first week , i only had 2 russell stover sugar free mint patties! |

I had a sugar free bar....and OH BOY ....it was a mad rush to the bathroom within an hour or so.
I didnt put 2 + 2 together till I had my next one. SAME THING!!!!
I now am staying away from those sugar free candies unless I KNOW Im going to be home for the day and close to the bathroom!
btw
I've been off the Beach for awhile...BUT I'm BBBBBBBBAAAAAAAAAACK! |

| Had the same problem, believe me it'll pass, cause now I'm a bit constipated, I use to drink diet tea , It caused me to go , maybe I'll try that..But people think I'm odd cause fiber constipates me, unless I drink extra fluids.. |

| Had the same problem in my 2nd week of P1. Most posters said don't eat hard diet candy - but since I had not been lured into snacking those - it could not have been the reason. I suffered from the condition about 5 or 6 days and it went away as soon as it appeared. Seems that for some of us the body makes adjustments to the change in diet. Anyway, it can happen even if you don't eat the fake candy and it seems to affect a few of us for whatever reason. Don't worry - just stick with the SB menus and you will have success! |

| I am on day 6 and experiencing the same thing. Everything I eat seems to go right through me. My wife is having the opposite problem being constipated. It is actually bad to the point that I have thought about going to PII early - I don't have any cravings. |

| That happens to me everytime I fall off the wagon and have to start all over again. It's your body detoxing! And yes, those candies can be lethal! For an undisciplined person like me to be too afraid to eat more than two peices of that candie says alot! Maybe it is a good thing, or I'd be devouring way too many :) |

So glad to hear this is normal...but still...
It's my 1st day on the diet and I had to run to the bathroom 2 hours after breakfast (omelet with tomatoes and tea). This is highly unusual since constipation is common in my life  It's hard to imagine that the diet is taking effect on my body so soon... |

| I am on day 3 of P1. I am hoping that it's the change in diet. I've read so many good suggestions here. Thanks for the help :) |

| Had that problem years ago--pre SBD. My doctor recommended Citracel (sp). I think any bulking laxative would work, such as Metamucil. I did think it strange that he would suggest a laxative for the runs, but it worked. Apparently it "binds" everything together. |

| I got diahrrea on P1 because I was eating a lot of raw veggies. Raw veggies cause your stomach to work more and was told this causes diahrrea. |
