My first day on Phase II is today and I dreamt all night about not having eggs for breakfast! But, I am scared the oatmeal I had may not have been the right choice. The book said no instant, so I took that to mean the sugary packets. I had the Quaker 1 minute oats. Is that ok--or are they just sugarless instant? I had good results with Phase I and I'd hate to blow it!

Glad you had great results in the 1st phase. I'm in the middle of it myself with some friends. The instant oat meal in the packets is the one to avoid. If your still unsure about what you ate check the package.

Don't worry about one meal. If you find that you need to adjust the type of oatmeal you are eating just do that. You're not going to undo all of your hard work by eating one bowl of oatmeal. Besides, even instant oatmeal is better for you than many of the cold cereals out there.

Don't give up!!

Oatmeal: Has to be the kind you have to cook, according to the book. Just checked.

Update--I just compared the nutrition labels for 1 minute quick cook oats and the regular kind on the Quaker Oats web site. The nutrition info was the same. So I guess they'll be ok. Happy to report that I ate them 4 hours ago and I am not having a carb meltdown.

book says you have to cook much longer then 1 minute. quaker makes the kind you have to cook for 3 or more minutes too, try that.
i've been getting oat meal at the health food store and cooking for 7 minutes in the mw. i lost 30 lbs. in 3 months. 10 more to go.

I think I will be switching to the longer cook kind. though I didn't feel like I was "carb high" after eating it, this morning I was up 2 pounds. I dropped back to phase 1 for today until I can get the longer cook kind. 30lbs! that's awesome. I would love to have your same success.
