I wouldn;t be discouraged if you are confused about what to eat. Take the various foods that are listed and make a meal out of them. If you follow the recipes from the book, it can be time consuming. As someone who works everyday and has a busy life, I don;t always have time to cook the recipes that are suggested. Thats why i pack easy-to-prepare foods for my day at work. Lunchmeat is easy to get as well as different cheeses. But if you don;t like coldcuts, try leftover steak, a salad in a tupperware where you add the dressing as you eat it. Also, for me, i am more satisfied by eating small parts of my lunch as i get hungry. For me its better because during the day i get hungry at random. Granted I am only on day 4 but so far i seem to have a little more energy and feel a little bit better.... but its a suggestion. Also, a good snack idea is celery with peanut butter. I love it and its allowed. But i think that breakfast is an easy meal becuase its mostly eggs and/or bacon etc. As for dinners, it is easier to cook but for lunches, try leftovers of your dinner the night before!!!
Lisa Wine- If you cook for you and your husband, go for vegetables soups that you make with the approved vegies and chicken, beans etc. For lunches makes sandwiches.... for his use bread, for yours use lettuce as the bun. Also, if this is what you want your husband should be supportive...and maybe not want to cut out the carbs, but should at least support your new eating lifestyle!!!! |

Gloria,
Thanks for talking about the absense of bloat. I am on day 4 and I thought I was losing my mind! I can see my face thinning already, but I have really notice the absense of bloat in my stomach today. It is amazing!!! Also, today, I have no desire for carbs and I am feeling more energetic.
I ordered the book, but have not received it yet, so I am goping by what is one this site. This has been amazingly easy.
Thanks..

ME AND MY HUSBAND TRIED THIS DIET ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO. I DON'T KNOW IF WE DID SOMETHING WRONG, BUT WE HAD MASSIVE HEADACHES. CAN SOMEONE HELP
There are a number of things that can cause headaches. Toxins being released into the system and cutting out caffeine can both cause headaches. DeTox tea (anything with milk thissle) can help cleanse your body of toxins. Slowly weaning yourself off of regular coffee by drinking 1/2 cafe (1/2 regular, and 1/2 decafe) for a few days then increasing the amount of decafe until you can quit coffee all together.
Dehydration can also cause headaches...so make sure you are drinking your 8X8 (glasses/ ounces) water everyday. This can be challenge if you aren't used to drinking water. I like to add lots of crushed ice that makes it like a slushy. Also getting a REALLY big cup (I have a 4 cup plastic mug) and so, I need to only drink 2 of those a day! Try to drink it early in the day so you aren't getting up 2 to 3 times a night to go to the bathroom. |

| The best resource here for what to eat and how much to eat and how to structure meal plans in both phases is Kimboroni's FAQ pages. I believe so strongly in the info that is here as a resouce for so many different questions, that I keep a link to it in my signature area. Near the beginning of both her P1 and P2 FAQ pages are links to the current food lists for each phase (P2 just adds onto what is already OK in P1) and links to meal planning templates for each phase that give a lot of good guidance of how to structure balanced meals and snacks. Some guidelines for amounts are in there and some for specific foods are in the food lists themselves. You can go pretty far armed with those two pieces of info. There's a lot of good Q&A items beyond those two things as well. Answers are provided as links back to threads where good information was provided on the relevant questions she is highlighting. IMO, it's a "must bookmark" page if you are going to be doing this. Good luck! |
