I think this web site....SouthBeach-Diet-Plan.com can pretty much tell you what you need to start.
There is a food list of foods to enjoy and foods to avoid. You may find even more comprehensive lists on other sites.

For the first two weeks. Eat Lean meats, chicken, turkey, fish, low fat cheese, eggs and vegetables. Stay away from Potatoes, pasta, rice, fruits, breads, milk and some vegetables that have a higher amount of sugar like carrots and beets. That's why it would be good to refer to the foods list. Stay away from saturated fats as much as possible and trans fats. use olive oil or canola.

This is what my day usually looks like
2 eggs w/Canadian Bacon and 6 oz V-8 for breakfast

2 slices of Turkey lunch meat rolled in a leaf of lettuce for 10:00 snack

Can of tuna with celery and jalapenos and Italian Dressing, with a few veggies on the side for lunch.

Nuts (around 15 to 20) for afternoon snack

Grilled Chicken Breast w/Brocolli and Cauliflower for dinner

Sugar Free Jello for evening snack

You can be flexible and eat til you are satisfied.
Really good idea to get book and read it to get the whole understanding. It helps you to know why you eat what you eat on this plan.
Good Luck

You probably don't want to gorge but eat til you are satisfied

Gloria, you seem to be an expert at this diet. I am really glad I met you at this forum. It appears that many people have the same questions and concerns that I do. I'm still not sure what to eat and how much but your responses to others is very helpful. What I do have a problem with sometimes is binging and that worries me. Maybe this diet will really help.

Hey Sue,

Go to the Food and Recipe Section for some ideas.

I bet you are already getting the hang of it. Let me know how you are doing.

I was doing great for the first two weeks. Then a friend invited me for lunch at her house on Sunday. Then there were Ice Cream floats Sunday Night at church. Then I got another dinner invitation Monday night. And they were all situations where it would have been impolite to not eat. Needless to say, my weigh in today was not as good as it should have been. So I'm staying on Phase One for another week.

And boy can I feel the difference in my midsection. I was feeling so light and I could really suck in my tummy. Now, I feel bloated and big and like there is a big basketball in my stomach. Oh well, in a couple of days, I'll be back to feeling good again.

Don't give up tho Gloria--every new day can be a new start. You've done well so far and you can continue to do so.

Myst,
Thanks for the encouragement. With my close friends, "diet" is like a bad word. As a matter of fact, I didn't even tell them I was on a diet ... but they picked up on it because I was eating different and my clothes were fitting better. And absolutely, I think they are trying to sabotage me by having me over 3 days in a row, knowing that i am not going to be rude and decline what they place before me. Of course, if I confront them, they will deny it. And maybe it's just my imagination and they are really just being nice. Everyone here is a great help.

Ma  y I make a suggestion? Let them know you are eating healthy for life and good friends always acccomodate that. How hard would it be for them to make you a salad, bring your own dressing, and , at least, add tuna to your salad. I would gladly do this for a friend who was trying to improve their health.

The easiest way to learn about the diet is to get the book. You can buy it or get it from your library and just copy the pages you think you will need the most. It helps to get your information form the primary source instead of other people's version of the diet. Not that anyone has any reason to mislead it's just that people do interpret their own version of what the diet's supposed to be about.
This site has good help and great people to lend a hand, I just think everyone should have the book because it's got the newest and most accurate info.
