Is Dryers Sugar free OK in phase one? Also, beware of some Hummas dips having high fructose corn syrup in it. Athenos brand does, Tribe brand does not.

Do you mean Bryers?

I don't think any dairy except riotta and low-fat cheese is okay on Phase I, although I have no idea why. Maybe someone else knows.

On a similar note, I bought some "Carb Smart" ice cream bars....they are vanilla with crushed almonds and they are DISGUSTING. The taste and texture is like cold plastic.

Nope, sorry, goodies like these will have to wait until later.

Dryers sugar free only has 8 net carbs per 1/2 cup and is low fat and made with Splenda, so if the sugar free fudgepops are SB phase one worthy, I don't see why the Dryers ice cream wouldn't be. But if anyone has reason to believe otherwise...please let me know. I've already had the stuff a couple of times, and it's pretty good.

By the way...Dryers and Bryers are both west coast ice cream brands. I think one of them for some reason goes by a different name on the east coast.

I've also tried the Silouette low carb ice cream bars, because I couldn't find the fudgepops, and they were horrible. They tasted nothing like icecream, and had a wierd texture. Their low fat stuff is amazing, but they need to work on the low carb stuff big time!

In regard to the Dryers/Bryers question:

On the east coast, Dryers is known as Edys. Bryers is the same both east and west coasts, as far as I know. I've just moved from NY to TX last year, and so I know what you are talking about with Dryers.

I am on Day three in P1. I am not even entertaining the thought of walking down the ice cream aisle in the store, but I do have a question: here in TX, they sell a product called Blue Bunny. Has anyone heard or tried that before? I don't know if they are just low fat treats, or if they are sugar free as well. Maybe when I reach P2 or P3 they will be a good dessert.

Good luck to you all.

Bryers

Bryers low sugar is higher in carbs than their low carb Ice Cream (4g net per 1/2 cup) and tastes almost as good as Blue Bell but only offered in strawberry Choc and Van.

Blue Bunny with Splenda is lower in sugar than regular icecream but still on the high carb side for me.

BLUEBELL!!!!! I have been trying really hard not to think about ice cream, but when I saw the post about Bluebell, my eyebrows shot up.

I LOVE their vanilla; no other brand can compare, as far as I'm concerned.

Drat; wish they made a sugar free, carb free, fat free, CALORIE free type.
