eating, that is. I know I should eat breakfast but it seems that once I have even the smallest bit to eat, I just eat, eat, eat all day. It wouldn't be too bad if it was good things, but I eat whatever looks good and is most convenient at the time. I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO WILLPOWER!!!!! Can someone tell me what to do. PLEASE!!!

Hi
Try and commit to phase 1 without cheating. After 2 weeks your cravings will be gone.
I just made up my mind that I wanted to succeed and I have so far. It has been a slow loss but I will eventually get to my goal. I am feeling better than I have in years and inches are coming off.
When you are ready to change it will be easy. Trust me. |

It's not cravings that drive me to eat, I just love food--the taste, the texture, the smell of it cooking--I have a love affair with food. I love to cook and unfortunately, I am cooking for one being widowed for 11 years. Problem is, I don't seem to be able to adjust to cooking for 1.

I hear you. I am widowed as well...just over a year. No matter what I make it seems to take days to eat it. The good thing about cooking for one is you can eat "weird" things like chick peas and tuna and no one has a comment. My husband was a big meat and potatoes guy and never gained an ounce. I do miss cooking those yummy things tho. Ah well back to the beach.

Hi. I have the same problem. Once I start eating in the morning, I'm always looking for something else to eat. I cook in quantity, like 1 lb. of beans, then immediately freeze what I'm not eating for the next meal. that way, when I want some beans, I just take one serving out of the freezer and heat it.
I try to keep busy and get out of the house as much as I can so I don't eat too much. I do a lot of gardening, which is good exercise, plus it is hard to eat if your hand are covered in dirt! Don't know what I will do when the cold weather hits, tho, maybe paint a room!
Good luck,
Hugs,
Burdle

I have the opposite problem - can eat really well until about 7 PM at night - that's when the munchies and nibbles start and I have a heck of a time controlling myself. I'm always walking out to the kitchen looking for a "bite of this or that" and can't seem to stop this annoying, diet-destructive habit! Arg!

Boy did I hit the spot. I have been battling this binge eating lately and have been totally out of control. Its nice to hear I am not the only one dealing with these kinds of issues. Just keep reading. Plan your menu and stick to it so your not setting yourself up. I have a big bowl in my fridge where I put cucumbers, celery, tomatoes, and cottage cheese in individual snack baggies. So when I am hungry and I open the fridge all my snacks are sitting right there in front of me. All I have to do is grab one its already cut up and prepared. Oh yeah, I have string cheese in there too. Good luck!
