| Will someone please help clarify whether lowfat/fat-free milk and yogurt are allowed during Phase 1 or not? On pg. 127 in the South Beach Diet book it says that you should avoid all dairy including milk (lowfat, fat-free, whole). But in Dr. Agatson's Good Fats Good Carbs Guide on pg. 16 it says that you CAN have lowfat or fat-free milk. Same goes for yogurt. I for one LOVE my milk and to be able to drink it during this strictest phase would make it a little more bearable considering that the drinks that you are allowed are very limited. Any comments? |

| Glad you posted this I thought we could have dairy but your correct we can't. In the recipes the only milk we can have is fat free evaporated milk. Sorry. Good Luck  |

| I just got my email from "The Daily Dish" (I signed up to receive daily tidbits of info from the South Beach Diet website). I was so happy to see that milk (low-fat or fat-free) and plain or vanilla yogurt (fat-free or light) are now allowed during phase I as well as some other foods that were taboo. Happy drinking from one milk lover to all you others out there!! |

There are about 6 different threads on this in the past two days so you might look for them.
Low fat and non-fat milk are now allowed in Phase 1, along with sugar free plain or vanilla yogurt. |
