I've noticed that I get bruises very easily since I've been on the diet (4+ months now). I must be lacking an essential nutrient. What can I do? These bruises just show up without me even knowing what I bumped myself on.

Me too, I have bruises on my legs and I don't even know how I got them!
I take a multivitamin every day too.

Me, as well. I see bruises on my thighs frequently. Just from my baby standing in my lap. What neutrient are we losing?

If you are all on Phase 2, I can't imagine that you are missing nutrients.
I am on a blood thinner and I am on Phase 2 and I never get bruises. I think I would ask my doctor what is causing the bruising. |

Bruising is frequently a B vitamin deficiency. Get yourselves a good brand of B vitamins, like a B-50 complex. I take one from NOW Foods, altho Twinlab is also a very good brand. Grains are a major source of B-vitamins, but with limiting grains, most of us are not getting enough of them. Dr. A suggests taking vitamins, so I'm not making this up. I also worked in healthfood stores for 8 years...an over-the-counter multiple vitamin like One-A-Day just doesn't have enough B's in it.

:D Also consider vitamin C, which I always thought was the cause of bruising. As we don't get enough of it on this diet, as well as the B-Complex, and because they are water soluble vitamins ( ya pee 'em right out) they should be taken several times a day. Burdle, thanks for the input. I will do some research on that.

According to the above article taking fish oil can contribute to bruising. I have recently started taking flaxseed oil and I wonder if that is why I am bruising? Isn't Omega 3 in both fish oil and flaxseed oil?

Yeah, I noticed a bunch of bruises on my thighs yesterday. I NEVER bruise, you could like hit me in the leg with a hammer and I wouldn't have a bruise. But now.. I have a bruise across my leg from having my bass sitting on my lap.

I had the same problem months ago, my doctor said it was a lack of Vitamin C, once I increased the C, the bruises were gone.

I just read an article this past week in a health magazine that said lack of vitamin C can cause bruising. My husband has been bruising much more since on SBD.
