I think this is it:

Mock Cinnabon
(Cottage Cheese with Cinnamon and Toasted Pecans)

1/2 cup low-fat Cottage Cheese
1 packet Splenda or Stevia
Cinnamon (to taste)
7 pecan halves, toasted (remember to count as part of nut allowance for the day)

Mix cottage cheese and Splenda. Sprinkle cinnamon on top, place pecan halves on top, and sprinkle with more cinnamon if desired.
Note: This makes a good breakfast choice for those who like something sweet in the morning.

I tried this. My brain was only fooled for the first few bites and then it realized it had been tricked. It's still just cottage cheese with sugar.

You have to get over the brain thing. It's like the mock mashed potatoes...it is a nice substitute, but not a good "immitation". As with a lot of these recipes, I'm finding that these are excellent alternatives - HEALTHY alternatives, that I can eat instead of the junk the rest of the family is eating.

In my house, we have cinnamon rolls EVERY Sunday morning. My kids would refuse to start the day/week if I didn't make them. So, yesterday I made them their rolls, and I had this healthy alternative. Sure, it's still cottage cheese and, yes, my teenager said it looked disgusting, but I thought it was pretty tasty, more than healthy, and I felt empowered by my resistance to temptation. All that and my suit is getting too big for me! I tell my brain to get over it - I'm tired of being overweight!! I'm eating healthy stuff from here on out and that's it and that's all!

When I saw this recipe, I thought that it sounded horrible  . Then I saw you guys discussing it here and decided to give it a whirl. I thought, "there is NO WAY cottage cheese can taste like a CINNABON, that is just crazy!" Well, I loved it! What a nice change for breakfast or just a treat. We need to keep our minds open to the endless possibilities that this WOE offers. This has been great! :D

metaphor

I bought Splenda in the pour box rather than as packets, but some of the recipes call for x number of packets. I assume that one packet equals 1 teaspooon, but if anyone knows otherwise, please let me know. In the meantime, I'm just adding a little to start with and adjusting to taste.

1 packet of Splenda equals 2 teaspoons of granular, or "loose" Splenda. There was a whole big thread on this a while back! I called the Splenda customer support line and they gave me the equivalent.
