For the past year I have been struggling with taking off 15 - 20 pounds. I have joined a gym, watched what I eat and the weight just won't budge. Last May I graduated from college and when my many walks around campus stopped my metabolism decided to stop too.
My mom has been on SB for the last 6 weeks and has sworn by it. My colleagues at work have been on it and swear by it. So I am hoping to jump on the bandwagon and see some of the success that others have seen.
I just started the diet Sunday. My starting weight is somewhere around 150 (i didn't actually weigh myself when I started. My goal weight it to be somewhere around 130 - 135. So here goes nothin'...Tonight I will just be charting what I have eaten as it is just about my bedtim. Tomorrow I intend to write more.
Sunday - 6/6
Breakfast - 2 eggs with cheddar cheese, 4 slices turkey bacon, 1/2 c sugar free jello with reduced fat cool whip (cw)
Snack - String Cheese, 1 c coffee with non dairy creamer and Equal
Lunch - Salad with chicken, reduced fat cheese, sliver almonds, and Light Cheese Dressing, and mixed roasted veggies
Snack - 15 cashews
Dinner - 2 seasoned chicken tenders, Green beans almondine, small salad
Monday
Breakfast - 2 eggs with cheddar cheese, 2 slices turkey bacon, 1/2c sugar free jello
Lunch - Salad with grilled chicken, reduced fat cheese, cashews, and Zesty Italian Dressed, and 1/2 c. sugar free jello
Snack 1 - String Cheese
Snack 2 - 15 cashews
Dinner - sauteed sausage, green beans almondine, 1/2 c sugar free jello w/ cw
Right now I am having no problems sticking to this. I do feel hungry still however. I am hoping as I get into day 3 and 4 this will pass. I am also hoping to eventuallly get more variety into what I make. I am not a chef. I like quick and easy meals where I don't need to spen 15 hours in the grocery store. So hopefully in the next couple of weeks I can find some things that will fit into my busy life and will be SB friendly. :D |

It takes a few days to get the old stuff out of your system. You have to give P1 a chance to change whats in your body. Im thinking 3-4 days.

Thanks for the welcome Kelsey. I am starting to feel more adjusted today. I haven't been nearly as hungry as I have been the last two days. I am almost done with Day 3 and I am proud to day that I was successfully able to pass on a cupcake that a student brought in for a b-day treat.
Can anyone offer any guidance or advice as to how much excercise they do during a typical week? I have been a pretty consistent gym goer but last week I got sick and haven't been back. I have started the diet on no excercise and can already tell I am losing a little. My problem is if I start doing too much excercise I feel much hungrier because of the metabolism boost and then start to overeat (usually on the wrong things -- nuts or cheese or before SB fruit). I am trying to find a balance and still get my excercise in while maintaining the SB rules. Just wanted to know how much others are doing since I know the diet can work with none -- but I always feel so much better after working out.
My Meals for the day:
Breakfast - 2 eggs, 2 slices turkey bacon, Grande Starbucks coffee with cream and equal
Lunch - Salad w/ grilled chicken, cheese, a few cashews, zesty italian dressing, 1 can diet lime coke
Snack - 15 cashews
Dinner - (i will make) black bean chili with beans, tomatoes, seasoning and a little bit of cheese. (I'll probably have sf jello and cool whip for dessert).
One more question: What is the limit on caffiene intake/carbonated diet beverages? I think I have been over the limit the past few days but I have been trying to combat that by drinking lots of water as well.
I am excited to get on a scale and weigh myself after week 1. I do not have a scale at home right now, and I don't want to hop on one too soon, so after week one I will probably get on one at my gym. I'll be curious to see if this is actually working.
 |

Hi Beryl,
I just started SB on Sunday, and I already lost three and a half pounds. The early results are very encouraging. If you stick to it, I am sure a pleasant surprise will be waiting for you when you get on that scale at the end of the week. I see you are also addicted to the sugar free jello. I am going to try making popcicles out of sugar free kool-aid so that I will have something else to satisfy my sweet tooth. |

Sunday was my starting day as well. I can tell some of my clothes do fit a tiny bit better -- so I know some weight loss has happened!
Sugar Free Jello is saving me from breaking the diet :) I need something to satisfy my sweet tooth! And I love to eat fruit so this is curbing some of my fruit cravings as well. I cannot wait until p2 to bring back some of my favorite foods.
How much weight are you hoping to lose? |

I already posted once tonight but I just had to post again -- I just made the BEST recipe for something else to curb my sweet tooth. Somewhere on the forum I saw a recipe for these peanut butter type cookies made with splenda, peanut butter and an egg. So i tried them. Definitely hit the spot.
I am feeling kinda guilty though. I know I went over my nut limit for the day now I have tried these cookies. I also am not sure how much cheese is acceptable. Tomorrow I am going to try to cut back more on the cheese and nut intake. |

P1 - DAY 4
B- 2 eggs, 2 slices turkey bacon
L - baby spinach salad with roasted chicken, bacon bits, zesty italian, and 1 string cheese
S1 - 2 peanut butter "cookies"
S2 - string cheese
D - Cheeseburger Salad w/ lite ranch, steamed broccoli
S3 - sf jello w/ lite cw
This morning was hard. Breakfast seems so redundant and I wished there was something else to eat besides eggs and bacon. I also had a pretty dissapointing lunch. But I made it through -- no cheating, AND I am starting to notice some adjustment, not as much hunger not as many cravings. And I am feeling so much better (more energy and less tired).
The best news of all -- I got a scale today and discovered I have lost 4 lbs.!!! What a pleasant suprise and what motivation to keep this up. I am so ecstatic. |

P1 - DAY 9
Its been a few days since I wrote anything. Things are going well! No major cheats as of yet. The extreme hunger is gone, cravings are gone, and today I had feelings of not even wanting to eat at meal time!
Last night I went in the fridge to make this "peanut butter cup" recipe that is all the rage only to realize that the fudgsicles I bought at the store were not sugar free. :x Needless to say I ate one anyways. I will be going to the store later this week to buy sf fudgsicles. That has been my one major slip up since starting.
I am proud though A) I made it through the weekend and eating out twice without cheating and B) I made it through my kindegarten students' end of the year party without cheating!! I didn't even want the cake all my parents and kids were eating. Here is the diet rundown for today...
B - 2 eggs, 1 slice Amer. cheese. 2 slices bacon
L - Leftover Meat Pizza (this was a hit for both me and my boyfriend!), cucumber salad, sf jello
S1 - Raw Broccoli and Lite Ranch
S2 - Carb Smart Vanilla Yogurt with Redi Whip
D - Steak, Sauteed Veggies, Mixed Salad
S3 - Mocha Almond Ricotta Creme (Yum!)
I have gone from about 150 - 143 in the last 9 days. And my clothes fit nicely. So I cannot complain. I need to start going back to the gym though. My gym routine which was so awesome a month ago has gone ot being almost nothing. Tomorrow I will hopefully get myself out and on an eliptical for at least 20 min. Gotta start back up somewhere. |

P1 - Day 11
Well today I kinda pretended I was in P2. I am a teacher -- and it was the last day of school -- my first year teaching -- and we had an end of the year staff party. I chose to have a glass of red wine. Which was enough to satisfy the urge to celebrate. I will go back to being a superb P1er tomorrow. And perhaps I will even day in P1 a day or two longer. We shall see.
B - 2 eggs w/ lf cheddar, 2 slices turkey bacon
L - 1/2 Chef Salad (turkey/ham/egg) lite ranch
S1 - cheese cubes, 1 tbsp spinach dip, 1 glass red wine
S2 - Starbucks (grande iced skim sugar free vanilla latte)
D - Salad (Turkey, lite pepercorn ranch)
S3- sf jello w/ lite reddi whip
I need to hide the scale, it is becoming an obsession. I also need to drink more water. I did start going to the gym again though! I will get this diet perfected eventually. :D |

Hi Beryl,
Thanks for your recent post. it's always nice to know someone else is in my boat! It sounds like you found a couple of nice recipes. I've just posted a chocolate pie recipe on my string you might be interested in!
Good luck!
